He had been a bit surprised when he realized Pam was sitting outside instead of inside, especially considering how cold it was. He figured she just wanted to enjoy the outside weather, and, shrugging the confusion off, headed over to say hello.

When he reached her and Fiona had jumped off his shoulder, he leaned forward to kiss her forehead lightly. "Hey. What're you up to?"

Pam laced her fingers with his and smiled faintly when he kissed her hand.

"I know," she replied softly. "I'm sorry. I will," she promised.

"Good," he smiled, finally letting go of her hand. "I love you."

She hesitated for a moment, then scooted closer to him, draping her arm over his chest and pulling him closer.

"I love you, too."

He chuckled, wrapping his arm around her himself and tugging her so she was against his chest. He kissed her temple tenderly, pushing back a strand of stray hair that had fallen into her face.

"You're the love of my life, Pam," he said against her ear softly. "Don't forget that, okay?"

Pam nodded silently, afraid that if she tried to say something, she'd start to cry. She moved away from him for a moment, but only long enough to pull the quilt and blankets back enough so she could slip underneath them.

He didn't think that was a bad idea, so he followed suit, pulling the covers up to his shoulder. He really did miss the whole heat aspect of living in a normal house. Even with the far better hut construction, it was still freezing.

"Taking a nap?" he asked, looking down at her when she got settled.

"Maybe," she replied. "It's cold." She huddled down underneath the blankets, shivering a little. She could feel Fiona moving around near her feet, so she called for her, letting her crawl underneath the blankets, too.

"Yeah," he agreed, watching as Fiona crawled under the covers and curl up between the two of them. "I can get you extra blankets up at the compound later if you want."

"That would be okay," she murmured, shifting a little closer to him. "I get cold at night. Even with this quilt and stuff."

He nodded quietly. "Okay. It's probably better to carry some extra blankets just in case. Who knows how cold this weather is going to get."

"I miss heat," she admitted, tugging the blankets a little higher on her shoulder. "Do you think we have room in here to set up a fire?"

He lifted his head to glance around, considering the question.

"Don't know," he admitted. "I'd be kinda nervous doing that, with all the wood-made stuff in here."

She made a face, but nodded. "Yeah, you're probably right."

"We can make a fire outside later, though, if you want," he offered.

"I think that would be nice," she replied, smiling softly at him.
