With Hei so absorbed in the little device he had received, he couldn’t possibly have been watching the plastic grocery bag he had been holding. Not enough to notice the furry thief who had taken interest in it, at least. Timon had followed the man who had seemingly wandered aimlessly into the city, curious as to what the bag held. Considering he had just walked into Paixao with it, and appeared to have arrived there for the first time, there may have been something new inside. Perhaps even something tasty. He never could resist a meal opportunity. Hopefully it was something worthwhile in the bag or Timon would be one a real unhappy meerkat ( ... )

Hei indeed was more alert than before, as he was finishing up on his conversations with two individuals. Squall, a man from someplace he never heard about, had been helpful enough to inform about the locals and what dangers were out there, what with no form of law enforcement. The talking hyena was one of these dangers. Yin was either back in Japan or out in this place that was going to take some time to figure out. Right now, it could not be determined which place was more dangerous. He just knew that Yin was alone, vulnerable, and possibly afraid too ( ... )

The meerkat was stunned speechless. His plans for taking any of Hei's belongings have been foiled. It was easy to read the very human expression on his small, round face ( ... )

Clothes? Really? Timon internally groaned. No wonder he hadn’t smelt anything of interest in the bag. Now this was just embarrassing. What was he supposed to say now? The guy appeared friendly enough, most having likely interrogated, maybe even skinned, him for trying to steal from them. But even still, there was something about him that made the meerkat feel on edge. Was he human or was he something else? Regardless of his efforts, Timon remained tense. Should Hei have continued such behaviour, however, he would slowly begin to relax.

“Clothes? I mean, I wasn’t looking at your bag,” He smiled sheepishly in an attempt to cover his lie. “I was just, uh, stretching.” That made sense, right? To try and prove himself, the meerkat outstretched his other arm in a similar fashion as before. “All part of my wake up routine. Yup, just a few of these stretches and I’m ready for the morning.”
