Hei however couldn't see a reason to inflict harm of any sort. Especially not in public. As easy as it could be to end his life right here and now, there came a mixture of plain curiosity and slight amusement in emotions--not anger or any urgency to resolve to using his--Bai's--their power.
The right thing to do would be to find out why the meerkat took interest in Hei's bag. To show that Li was no one to worry about, he smiled a little. His tone expressed kindness and slight nervousness. "It's all right. You don't have to be scared of me." He let out a chuckle to get the little guy to relax. "My clothing would be much too big for you to have, unless you wanted something to keep yourself warm. I don't have much else on me, sorry."
Apart from a small bundle of clothes, the bag also contained some sharp knives, wires, and a disassembled pieces of equipment Hei used often for Syndicate related missions he'd been assigned to. Hei obviously felt it unnecessary to mention them. Not only because this was customized equipment and weaponry that were somewhat expensive, but he wouldn't want the meerkat to harm himself while poking around in his things.
