What a Jupiter Djinn was doing in a grocery store in the first place was anyone's guess, really. It didn't eat, after all, so it couldn't be hungry. Maybe it had simply liked the bright colors and the proliferation of low tables to hide underneath.

In fact, it was half under a table when Yorda found it, and her curious touch startled it straight upwards - whereupon it collided with the bottom of the table, knocking a few red apples off the display. The Djinn squeaked and scuttled across the next aisle to hide under a table full of strawberries.

Perhaps it was under the mistaken impression that no one could see it down there.

Utterly enchanted with the adorable little creature, Yorda crawled after it, unaware of the strange looks she was getting. "Wait," she cried softly, despite not knowing whether it could understand her or not, "I will not hurt you." She reached out again, trying once again to catch it. "What are you doing under here?"

Never mind that Yorda had followed it and was completely unaware of the mess she was making. "What are you?" she continued, attempting to capture it again.

Of course, the Djinn didn't understand a word she was saying, and skittered off again just as she got within arm's reach. It wasn't hitting the tables itself now, but the mess and noise Yorda was making as she did had spooked it that much more.

One thing was for sure, it was an agile little bugger.

"Ah, wait..." Yorda said, going after it again. She couldn't understand why it was running (was it playing a game with her?) but she wanted to find out what it was and why it was here. Was this its home? The girl gave a little shake of her head as it dashed off; chasing it in this manner was difficult, even if she was enjoying herself.

"Come here," she told it, reaching again, "I mean you no harm."

Only a couple of days had passed since Sin's defeat on the west side of town, enough that the shock of it all had worn off a little. Shortly after the battle, in his search of the area, he'd found not one, but three exhausted Djinni lying around. Even now, they were still recovering, and in a different sense, so was he.

But the need to find them now was more urgent than ever. He'd even suspected, way back when he and Karst found the first one at the fairgrounds, that they might have fallen into wicked hands. And of course, he'd been right ( ... )
