SUBARU and SHOTA started a new series called YASUBA on J-web.
The rules they set for this series are:
- Update every Saturday, taking turns. It seems like it's not going to be updated every Saturday anymore. It'll probably be randomly updated just like the Chimp/Otokomae, haha.
- Have at least one picture.
I will keep this post at the top and will update the translations whenever those two update their entries. NOTE: Because Subaru tends to be poetic and Shota to be a bit "???" on the Japanese language (lol), I will be translating the content so that it flows better in English, not directly translating word-for-word from Japanese to English.
This will be Round 2 of the "Chimpanzee and Otokomae" exchange.
(I really suck at making icons... so if someone would kindly make me an awesome Subassan icon, I would greatly appreciate it!! Pretty please?? EDIT: Please see
HERE)

Breakfast one morning. (*linked to a picture of a full set meal)
There is a lot of love rolling around in our ordinary days.
We have to appreciate it.
Father, Mother.
Thank you very much.
Just like this
Yasuba
We hope that we could share our natural selves as much as possible with you all.
Please come and have fun reading.
Our freeness and casualness haven't changed at all.
Please look forward to this series.

(Note: italics in parentheses are the descriptions of the picture icons that Shota used in his text)
Four months have passed in this new year but I haven't gone shopping at all,
and I really haven't bought any clothes (arrow pointing up)
So, I have wandered around a bit for the first time in a while.
And, I was walking through some narrow roads where I don't normally go to,
and found stores that I wanted to go to but never knew where they were (shiny)
Also, I found something like this <3 (*linked to a picture of a huge wall-painting on the street)
Just this place was very foreign :-D Seriously (shiny)
I went in, and I got really excited!!
Wandering around could be nice :-)
It was connected to a gallery and a cafe; the gallery was charge-free and
I was able to look around freely (shiny)
Just like Shibuyan said, please look forward to this Yasuba (rose)

To feel something
is very important.
What do you all feel?

I've felt something after Shibuyan told me to "feel something" (shy face)
I used to go soooo often when I was a kid (shiny)
But I've never really seen it before~ (musical note)
But, I have seen it on TV (shiny)
It's this (smiley) (*linked to a picture of kangaroo boxing)
Kangaroo boxing (punch) (smiley)
I took a video clip of it too (musical note)

When I went home for the first time in a while, "he" was there, the one that shows up every year ever since my childhood.
My older brother, me, younger brother and "him." It made me realize once again that we have three boys in the family.
And, for a parent, the child is always a child.
For the child, a parent is always a parent.
"Him" (*linked to a picture of a traditional Japanese doll that is for "Kid's Day" which is on May 5th, and is usually considered as the "Boy's Day" as opposed to the "Hinamatsuri Girl's Day" on March 3rd)

Shibuyan, "he" still appears in your house, eh? :-) (arrow pointing up)
"He" used to appear in my house too until when I was in elementary school (shiny)
This time, I made a face using food :-)
It turned out to be pretty cute (musical note)
It looks like the chef-guy we used to draw while singing :-D (shiny) (*note: there's a song that goes with drawing a picture of a chef)
Look <3 (*linked to a picture of two boiled eggs as the eyes and two sausages as the mouth)

That special feeling - the mixture of sadness and excitement.
I like it.
It's similar to that of expectation and anxiety.
But I guess all in all, I'm excited.
I am able to feel that way these days.
I like it.
I guess there are fun times because things aren't too clear.
How do you all feel?
(camera) (*linked to a picture of ...I don't know, a sunset in front of a bridge??)

That's such a beautiful scenery~ (shiny)
It kinda has a lonely feel to it, but I like it <3
OK, for me...
I think those who came to see me will know, but during my solo show in February, I drew a LOPPY chan on stage (arrow pointing up)
And, two different people on two different days came up to me after seeing the LOPPY chan I was practicing to say "Yasu's drawings are very Basquiat-like."
I really didn't know who Basquiat was...
but, because people told me that (my drawings are Basquiat-like), I figured I should check out some of his drawings and DVD so I did...
then, our sensitivities were like a perfect match~ (shiny)
To top it off, I was surprised when what Basquiat was saying in the DVD was exactly the same as what I was feeling (arrow pointint up)
This isn't exactly my #1 favorite, but this book includes a picture I really like (shy face) (arrow pointing up) (*linked to a picture of
this book)

First of all, this (camera) (*linked to a picture of a tree with a hole in it)
What you see through it is the ego of us humans, who are all so self-centered. (camera) (*linked to a picture of what you see through the hole in the tree)
What's important.
What are things we should be protecting.
The more simple things are, the more we probably tend to forget...
How about you all?
#010: June 8, 2008 Yasu (*he was late updating so he updated on Sunday)
(this week's YASUBA icon by: abartiges_kind thank you!)
The other day, I went deep into the mountains with some adults to build an eco house (light bulb)
We used trees; we broke the ground and raised a tree post to build the house. It was like a bigger scale of the outdoor stuff we did as kids (smile)
The adults we joined do so many things and they're so awesome (shiny x3)
When we were plowing the field, I saw something that we can't see in the big cities (smile with heart eyes) (*linked to a picture of soil, snake and sunlight)

(camera) (*linked to a picture of tree leaves and sunlight)
When there is a shiny smile, it is flooded with power.
You feel happiness, and appreciate everything.
You can do anything. There's nothing impossible.
Heart as one.
Live brightly, strongly.
Thank you

My faaaaavorite food.
It never ever lets me down.
Up until now, my mom used to make it for me.
But not anymore.
I can make it too.
Doesn't it look good? (*linked to a picture of curry with a sunny-side up on top)

We finished our first day of Fukui today :-) (shiny)
Take a look at this :-D (*linked to a picture of the DVD they took for one of the shows in Fukui)
Pretty cool, huh? (smile with hearty eyes) <3
I'm gonna go watch it now~ (cat) (cat) (cat) (shiny)

I went shopping!
This is why I can't stop (buying) second-hand clothes!
I really should consider renting a storage.
Or, I could open up a second-hand store!?
(camera) (*linked to a picture of a bunch of clothes he bought)
