The boys were asked to choose a member that fits best into each criteria…
“FUNNIEST GUY”
Subaru: Yoko - He is the founder of our “Eight Ranger” skits and he always leads us into great laughter… Yoko’s a genius! He’s the Fantasista of comedy! He sweats so much to make people laugh; he’s an athlete of comedy!
Ryo: Maru - Maru is funny! Just now, we were playing old maid (cards). Usually, you would challenge each other by saying, “Look I have the joker here,” right? Maru can’t do it. His lies are so easy to see through. He is so naturally funny that I laughed so hard.
Maru: Yoko - Yokoyama-kun thinks differently from other people. He has a quick mind, he catches on to funny things, and he remembers things very well. Stories will become so much funnier if Yokoyama-kun told them. I think Murakami-kun fits into the same group!
Shota: Yoko - I think everyone’s funny… but the funniest probably is Kimi-kun, who comes up with the storyline for our skits. He has abilities that no one else can match, and his point of view is different. There’s a thin line between funny and genius! He’s really funny.
Ohkura: Yasu - Yasu’s boke gives me goose bumps. They’re all natural, too. Yokoyama-kun was telling me the other day that Yasu had several taxis ignore him, and when he finally caught one, it was a big van taxi. Isn’t that a miracle? Haha.
Hina: Yasu - Yasu’s a really good guy. Even when Yasu wants to eat Yakiniku, when I say “I want to eat Motsu Nabe,” he says, “That sounds good!” I find those things very funny, haha.
Yoko: Yasu - Yasu messes up his words so often. Whatever he says, he messes up. They are all natural, too. I cannot beat his natural funniness.
FUNNY: Yoko (3), Yasu (3), Maru (1)
“NICEST GUY”
Subaru: Yoko - The other day when Yoko called me during his radio show, he called me later during commercial to thank me for being on the show. He was still working, too! Yoko is caring like that to anyone all the time.
Ryo: Yasu - When we travel together, Yasu’s usually always the last to get ready. We always get irritated and say, “Yo, you’re so slow; hurry up!” but Yasu’s always cleaning up our room and stuff. He’s really really nice from the bottom of his heart.
Maru: Yasu - Yasu has the kindness to think about others before he thinks about himself. One time, I said to him, “I bet you would say yes when I want you to come all the way to Kyoto because I’m having big trouble and I need your help…” and he told me, “I’ll definitely go.”
Shota: Ohkura - I think he thinks about other people a lot. He casually assists people and has the power to escort people. He’s the kind of guy who can connect with people with his kindness that is not too much that people tell him that he’s nice.
Ohkura: Yasu - I think Yasu is just full of kindness. No matter how dumb the things people say are, he listens to you really seriously. Yasu never has the attitude of “I don’t have time for that” toward other people.
Hina: Yasu - I consider Yasu as Gandhi, haha. He’s always nonresistant and is always ready to accept things. Even during MCs, he picks up what people say… he’s really nice.
Yoko: Yasu - Our group is filled with nice guys, but Yasu is especially nice. It was a while ago, but when I was sick, he texted me to ask me if I was doing okay. He does those little things that make him so nice.
NICE: Yasu (5), Yoko (1), Ohkura (1)
“SEXIEST GUY”
Subaru: Ohkura - Ohkura is sexy! First of all, his body line. The line from his hips to his legs is wonderful! And his long legs! And, and that sexy karma he has that he’s born with! I think it’s wonderful!
Ryo: Maru - Maru’s really funny when he speaks, so I think not many people have noticed… but, he actually is very sexy. He has that sexy aura of a Johnny Depp or an Orlando Bloom… I’m serious!
Maru: Ryo - Ryo-chan has droopy eyes so that itself is sexy. If he smiles at you with those eyes, your heart starts racing… right? On top of that, he’s working out now and gaining muscles. He’s working hard to become an even sexier man.
Shota: Subaru - When you look at Shibutani Subaru squarely in the eye… his eyes are so powerful that you are drawn into them. I think a lot of our fans would agree with me. Sometimes when our eyes meet, even I, as a guy, feel that way as well.
Ohkura: Subaru - Subaru-kun’s usually walking around naked in our dressing room. Not even in his underwear; he’s usually really naked, haha. He’s skinny but he has the necessary muscles; I think he’s sexy.
Hina: Yoko - I think the sight of his back in the corner of the room when he’s playing games is really sexy, haha. He has the wistful aura of a man. Shirts opened in the front are not sexy at all compared to Yoko’s sexiness, haha.
Yoko: Hina - I think Murakami’s beautiful muscles are sexy. He’s really working out. Thanks to those muscles, he looks good in any of our costumes. I must follow suit and work out harder!

“MANLIEST GUY”
Subaru: Ryo - At work and outside of work, he marches forward having a good grasp of himself. There was this one time when a security guard told him, “This road is dangerous because it gets crowded,” he said, “No, I want to walk down this road,” and marched down, haha.
Ryo: Yasu - I’ve known Yasu since the day we got into JE, and he’s always been a manly man. It’s hard to tell on a normal basis, but he really has the guts. One time, he protected me; I was moved!
Maru: Hina - Murakami-kun is muscular and he’s the type that would make people follow him. He’s outgoing, and I think he could escort the ladies well, too. He also seems wild enough that I wouldn’t be surprised if he went hunting naked, haha.
Shota: Hina - One time when Murakami-kun was waiting in a long line outside a station for a taxi, an ossan cut in front and tried to ride before him. Murakami-kun saw that and he stood in front of the taxi saying, “That’s not right now, is it!?”
Ohkura: Yasu - Yasu’s the kind of guy who, with his kindness, also has manliness. He’s usually smiling all the time, but when a few of us get heated and start trying to hit each other, he always comes in and says “Stop it.” He’s really manly.
Hina: Ryo - Seeing the lyrics he writes these days, I think he’s become really manly. I think it’s cool that he can write love songs from a male’s perspective. He really treasures his friends, so that side of Ryo is very manly, too.
Yoko: Yoko - All of us are quite manly… but, I would have to choose myself, haha. I usually ask everyone out for dinner and stuff and lead the way. You might find it hard to believe, but I do have leadership skills.

“TSUKKOMI #1”
Subaru: Yasu - Yasu’s tsukkomis are so cute. He always tsukkomis so hard, but no one’s listening to him, haha. He shoots a lot (of tsukkomis) but most shots end up missing the target, haha. They’re very sad tsukkomis. It’s very funny.
Ryo: Hina - Murakami-kun tsukkomis at the end of our Eight Ranger skit at the concerts. Not only during lives, but when we’re just talking amongst ourselves, he tsukkomis a lot too and those are always really funny!
Maru: Yasu - Yasu used to tsukkomi me when we had the manzai duo “Yamada” going and I like Yasu’s unique way of tsukkoming. I like Murakami-kun’s tsukkomi as well, but to me, Yasu’s the old-line tsukkomi. I’m always filled with many “Thank you’s.”
Shota: Hina - This is Murakami-kun. Definitely!! I think his right hand for tsukkomi never stops moving. We’re very thankful for that. I don’t think we would function without him. …and sometimes, it would be me, too!! Haha.
Ohkura: Yasu - This is Yasu as well!! Yasu actually tsukkomis anything and everything. If you watch closely on TV shows and stuff, you can see Yasu tsukkoming in a small voice behind Murakami-kun’s. I even feel sexiness from it!!!
Hina: Subaru - Subaru’s tsukkomis are really funny! Sometimes when I do boke, Subaru tsukkomis… but he usually stutters and says, “Oh yeah, you… yeah, right?” Haha, he isn’t saying it right! I find it very funny though, haha.
Yoko: Subaru - Subaru’s tsukkomis are like the unsung hero. During MCs at concerts, TV, magazines; he doesn’t speak much, but he gives out accurate tsukkomis at the necessary places, and he never misses! It’s awesome!
TSUKKOMI: Yasu (3), Subaru (2), Hina (2)
“MOST SPOILED GUY”
Subaru: Subaru - My life itself is spoiled so I’m always reflecting on it. I’m spoiled, but I’m also a lonely one at that, too. I’m complicated because I don’t like eating alone but I can’t invite anyone out, either.
Ryo: Ryo - That would be me, haha. There aren’t many spoiled guys in our group because everyone other than Subaru-kun and I is the oldest son. I sometimes ask the guys to open my water bottle for me. When I get a girlfriend, I want to be spoiled, too.
Maru: Subaru - Even during the Eight Ranger skit, he always sticks to Orange Ranger. When I hug his shoulders, he fits right in so I think he’s so cute. I like how he is good at being spoiled.
Shota: Maru - This is Maru. He actually wants to be spoiled. He wants to be spoiled, and sometimes he gets lonely… I can tell easily. He never admits himself, though. I can assume that he turns into a baby behind the scenes.
Ohkura: Yasu - The way Yasu says “Moshi moshi” on the phone is like “Moshi moshiii?” and it goes up at the end, haha. Whenever I hear that, I think to myself “He really wants to be spoiled,” haha. The way Yasu talks is definitely suggesting that he wants to be spoiled!
Hina: Subaru - I think the most spoiled is Subaru. Whenever we go eat together, Subaru can never pick the restaurant. I always end up choosing, and he can never decide on what to eat, either! After I pick something, he says “Two of those,” and he ends up eating the same thing as me, haha.
Yoko: Maru - When we’re working, Maru is the friendliest to the staff. He’s good at talking to people so it makes me think that he is spoiled, too. It’s something that I can’t do, so I’m very envious of him.

“MOST PASSIONATE GUY”
Subaru: Yoko - Everyone’s passionate, but I think Yoko’s the most out of all of us. He loves planning the guys’ surprise birthday parties and stuff. All of us have passion toward each other, but I think Yoko shows it the most straightforwardly.
Ryo: K8 - We’re all very passionate! I think we’re all like athletes. We eat a lot, drink a lot, and we cherish the atmosphere we have, so our teamwork is really good. We’re always full of power and are a very passionate group of seven!
Maru: K8 - There was this one time when all of us cried together. When “Naniwa Iroha Bushi” came out, we were all out eating and saying how we’ll all work together. We understood each other and started crying so much at the restaurant.
Shota: Ryo - Don’t you feel that the blood flowing in his body is boiling all the time? He’s hot-blooded in a good way and he’s always heated during meetings, too. He’s like an athlete and he is very energetic. I admire his energy because I am losing my touch these days.
Ohkura: Yasu - I don’t even know why, but he’s always saying passionate things. In daily conversations, he says things like “We are such a great group!” He says it so casually that it makes me feel embarrassed.
Hina: Ohkura - He doesn’t say it out loud, but Ohkura actually has strong will power. For example, if he decides he wants to lose weight, he goes to the gym and seems to be working really hard at it. Yoko on the other hand, even when he decides he needs to lose weight, he always succumb to temptation and ends up eating, haha.
Yoko: K8 - Kanjani8 always gets the job done and is always full of power. Even when the all of us go out to eat, we’re passionately talking about work. This goes to the all of us! All of our members are passionate!

So the most Otokomae of K8 is SHOTA by a mile!! I think the fact that Ohkura chose him for virtually every single criteria (except for sexiness, but he admitted elsewhere that Shota’s sexy) helped out a lot, too, haha.
