Since I've been suffering from a slight cold the past few days what with all the travelling I've done in the recent past... I'm only going to write stuff from the MC and the second/third encores of the August 5th Tokyo Dome show... sorry!
Btw, to recap how crazy my life has been the past month:

July 9th to 13th - WORK (no sight-seeing or anything except for Friday night when I saw the Opera House from the car...)
July 14th - Sydney to Seoul (plane #3) but that was two hours late due to some "technical issues" and missed the connecting flight from Seoul to Osaka, which was cancelled anyway because of the typhoon... had to stay overnight in Seoul

August 14th - Sapporo to Kobe (plane #10)
September 1st - KANJANI8 CONCERT (report: My tickets will come on August 20th! I wonder where my seats are!)
...anyway, as you can see I have had a crazy past few weekends (10 plane rides in total! Craziness!) and this is my long excuse for why I won't be able to write a full report for Tokyo Dome, haha. Sorry! I'm sure most of you read a lot of other reports already, so I'll write mainly about the MC which I haven't seen on many reports yet and also THE second encore from my point of view.
TOUR 2007 TOKYO DOME (August 5th, 18:00) MC
- Hina said Taichi (TOKIO) and Inocchi (V6) have wished them good luck for the Tokyo Dome concert and that they were sorry they couldn't make it.
- Yoko said he invited Tsuyoshi (Kinki Kids) but Tsuyoshi said "Yo, I was there! Remember? Right around the third song? Yeah, I was dancing a sexy dance... you don't remember?"
- Hina said he called and thanked Toma, Yara and Aiba for coming to the show on the 4th. However, when he called Aiba, a guy, a rather middle-aged sounding ossan too, answered instead of Aiba. Hina asked, "Uhh, is this Aiba?" The ossan said, "No, this is Aikawa." Hina said a miracle (with the name being really similar) like this can happen! There was a good laugh from the crowd, and Yoko, of course getting jealous that Hina got a laugh out of the crowd (haha), said "You made that up didn't you!" Hina said, "...well, we all had a good laugh, didn't we?" Apparently, Aiba didn't tell Hina that he had changed his phone number.
- Yoko talked about how his mic got broken during the Eight Ranger skit. I've noticed something was wrong too because Yoko was whispering something to Subaru and Subaru was saying the lines that Black Ranger usually says. He said that he was trying to tell the staff that his mic was broken and kept on chasing one of them, but that guy kept on running away from him because he thought Yoko was fooling around in the skit as Black Ranger, lol. When Ryo finally yelled at the guy saying "Yo! Yokoyama-kun's mic is broken!!!" The staff went "HAI!!!" Yoko was disappointed at the different treatment, haha.
- Yoko (the reason I mention Yoko a lot here is because he talks a lot!! anyway...) all of a sudden asked the guys what the difference is between Koi (恋) and Ai (愛). Both words mean "love" but it's slightly different; "Koi" is lighter than "Ai," you know what I mean? Anyway, Maru's answer was that Koi is "shitagokoro." "Shitagokoro" would directly translate into something like "ulterior motive." Maru also meant that the "kokoro = 心" comes on the "shita = bottom" of the kanji for Koi. Do you see it? Whereas for Ai, the "kokoro" part comes in the middle. So that's the difference between Koi and Ai for Maru. Sorry for my bad explanation but the whole crowd including myself was very impressed at his reply. Then, Hina said that the difference is whether it has 情 = empathy or not. We have a word Aijo (愛情) but we don't have Koijo (恋情) so that's the difference, he said. It was an okay answer, but the crowd was like "...yeah? I guess?" so Hina said "What! What was wrong with my answer!!" Haha. Then Ohkura said that Ai is just the highest level of love and got applauded for. Hina got even more pissed off, hahaha.
- Yoko at some point called Hina a gorilla, and Hina calmly said that Yoko loves to call people gorillas. Yoko also called Hina a giant rock during the Eight Ranger, lol. When he was "confessing" to Blue, Nasu got in the way and Black was like "Oh my god, a big rock was just in front of me! I got scared!"
- Yoko (have I started every sentence with "Yoko" or what?) talked about a phone call he made the night before... read carefully Ohyass fans, haha. Yoko said he wanted to know what time they had to get into work that day, and called Yasu. Yoko said that Yasu was the easiest to call. Hina said "What, do you not like the rest of us?" Yoko said "Well, you know, those chore-type things, Yasu's the easiest to ask," and Yasu said "Hey! That does not sound good!" I remember reading in a magazine article that Ryo called Yasu to ask him what time they were supposed to get into work as well, so I guess Yasu's like the secretary of the group! Haha. Anyway, this is what happened (all said by Yoko himself, haha):
Yoko: "So, what time do we have to get in tomorrow?"
Yasu: "Around 11:40am. ...Kimi-kun?"
Yoko: "Yeah?"
Yasu: "Thank you <3"
Yoko: "...huh?"
Yasu: "Thank you for inviting me to dinner the other day... I'm sorry I couldn't go, but thank you for that."
Yoko: "Uhh... you're welcome...?"
Yasu: "And Kimi-kun?"
Yoko: "Yes?"
Yasu: "Will you do your best at tomorrow's (meaning Aug 5 Tokyo Dome) concert?"
Yoko: "Yes, of course...?"
Yasu: "Okay, good... I like hard-working Kimi-kun <3"
LOL
According to Yoko, Yasu was acting like a baby. Yasu's like "Stoooooop it's embarrassing! I said stuff like that??" and of course Hina smacked him saying "What the hell is your problem!" or something like that, haha. Then, Ohkura joined in on the MC conversation and said, "Yeah, Yasu was like a baby all night long!" Yoko said, "Yeah, you were with him when I called you, right?" Ohkura said "Yeah" and here's the call that Yoko made to Ohkura; he wanted to ask Ohkura how to find a game on the internet, lol. (by the way these are not word-for-word dialogues but are what I remember):
Yoko: "Yo Ohkura, how do I find this this and that on the internet?"
Ohkura: "Oh Yokoyama-kuuun? How are you? You gotta do this and that (explains how to find the game)... got it? Let me know if you have any problems, okay!?"
...According to Yoko, Ohkura's tension was really high as well and he was wondering why there was so much difference in hyperness between him and Ohyass, haha. I wonder what the two were doing that were making them all giggly and hyper so late at night...??
It was a rather short MC because they introduced Hey Say 7. The bad thing about big concerts in places like Tokyo Dome is that these precious MC times are used for promoting other things and it cuts time!! They even cut the Subaru BAND which I was looking forward to!!! Subaru and Ryo did not speak at all during this MC if I remember correctly.
THE SECOND ENCORE
Well... they came out for a second encore and Kanfuu Fighting started, as the boys made the crowd sing per usual. I found it a bit odd that all seven of them were headed toward one direction, but they're K8 and they're weird (haha) plus it was on the other side of where I was, so I was just singing along, looking at the big screen and having a good time. Then, Ryo ran into the crowd so I was like "What he hell is he doing??" and then he pulled someone up on the stage. Seriously, I had no clue who he was because I could only see a tall guy in a black t-shirt and jeans. Then the screen showed his face and the crowd just ROARED. I started trembling and tears started to come out freely. I can't describe what my emotion was at that point; definitely not sad, because why would I be? Haha. Surprised, yes most definitely. Happy, yes... all the guys had such great smiles on their faces that it made me feel all emotional. I have a feeling they did that without getting any permission from JE... you know, as if to say "We'll get yelled at after the concert... but we only have this moment now and we want to share it with him and everyone here... so who cares! Let's bring him up! He's one of us!" If they did get permission beforehand, then yay, good for them. But my instincts say they didn't, but that is something that Kanjani8 would do, you know?
The whole scene just made me cry so much because you know how much those seven boys have endured the past two-plus years? They weren't even able to say his name or mention his existance publically. How tough it must have been for them. After all that and you see all eight of them on the same stage, not afraid to call out the name UCHI HIROKI, sing with him, talk to him, hug him, smile with him... it just seemed so unreal. I don't want to make it sound all dramatic, but it really made me think a lot you know? After all they've been through, they're finally standing on the stage in a huge place like Tokyo Dome, and after not voicing any opinion publically on the issue, they just casually bring him up on the stage as if nothing has changed from before. He blended in so naturally that you couldn't even tell that he was away for so long.
When I looked around the Dome, almost everyone was crying. I don't remember ever attending any event in that capacity that had people crying all at once in sheer happiness and joy. The funny thing is, the eight of them on the stage weren't crying at all; they were all smiling so much. Subaru kept on telling everyone to stop crying and smile. It's a happy time for everyone, he said. They really made it feel like nothing has changed at all and it was so natural to have all eight of them there at once. I don't know how to describe this feeling!!
After Ryo gave Uchi the t-shirt and they all moved to the main stage, they got into a line and asked everyone in the crowd to hold the hand of the person next to you. I held hands with a girl that I had just met that day (a friend of a friend who I went to the concert with) and an older lady who I don't know at all. But all Eighters and Eight had our hands together and Yasu was Yasu (= chotto aho, lol) telling us to "WHEN WE PUT OUR HEADS DOWN, PUT YOUR HEADS DOWN! WHEN WE PUT OUR ARMS UP, PUT YOUR ARMS UP!!" lol Yoko was laughing a lot but we all did as we were told, haha. It was so funny to see everyone's head going down as Yoko started saying "And... we are the... best... and the mightiest... Kanjaniiii...." then everyone raised their arms and said "EIGHT!!!!"
When the guys were leaving, Yasu remained on the stage and said "THIS IS KANJANI EIGHT!!!" I think the crowd was at its loudest. It was a simple sentence, but it meant SO MUCH because yes, it indeed was Kanjani Eight.
---
I still get teary whenever I remember that scene. I am so grateful to have been able to be a part of that moment. Thank GOD my flight from Singapore back to Osaka and the one from Kobe to Tokyo had no problems!!! I don't know what I would have done had I missed the concert knowing what went on!!!
By the way, Thursdays are usually the updating date of the Johnny's Web (JE cell phone site) K8 Ranger Diaries, and I was reading them on my way back from work today and got all teary again reading Shota's entry. He's been writing nice long comments for every single prefecture so far, talking about what he saw around the venue, what kind of concert it was, thank you all for coming etc. and this bit on Tokyo Dome got me all emotional again so I'll translate it here:
(after talking in length about his experiences in Tokushima and Kagawa, he talks at an even longer length about how awesome the Tokyo Dome live was and how thankful he is of all the fans and staff that has supported them in Tokyo... then:)
And, lastly.
I think we have been supported by "that" presense all throughout.
He has always been in our hearts, has been our encouragement, and has made us fight through the tough times.
That's why I was full of happiness at that moment in time.
On that STAGE of the Dome.
We all ran together; not thinking about the past but just about now... now, at that time, I think we were able to have on the most honest and wonderful smiles.
Most of all, I was so happy to be able to proudly declare that we are Kanjani8 in front of everyone!
That time, all of us Kanjani8 were smiling.
I think we will keep on smiling together, the all of us, now and forever!
Like always, nothing will change among us (shy smile)
Please invite us to the stage of the Dome again,
Thank you very much!!
(then he thanks Nagano and says how awesome the concerts there were as well... his entry was really long and full of emoji!! haha)
I always love reading Shota's entries because you can just tell that he puts so much time into writing these entries. This one was very special... thank you to you too, Sho-chan <3
Anyway... I guess it ended up longer than I had expected, eh? Haha. I will hopefully have more energy and time to write about the Hokkaido cons coming up in a few days so please look forward to those!
Yay EIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
8 ->1 for real 20070805 Machigainai.
By the way, a few pics from the Dome:
