I totally agree about John being fit and not anorexic, and I love the biceps! All your favorite images are also favorite of mine. I especially like the Ronon/Rodney look, and also the Ronon/Elizabeth look. Ronon/gun is pretty hot too. :P
I want to go and catch up on everyone's squee posts - damn having to go back to work! And I'm torn for this evening - which first, new VM or SGA squee!! Ah, dilemmas!

Yeah, it's just one of those things I don't get. There's a writer, whose stories in another fandom I love like crazy, great writer, but her John characterisation sends me nuts - among other things, she seems to think he's got an eating disorder!
Have you never come across it in fan fiction? I've even seen posts about it, though I've never taken the time to argue it. But that picture just screamed 'fit soldier here' to me, so I thought I'd make my point. *G*
It was a really fun ep, eh? My only real quibble was that they so conveniently got rid of all of the Ancients. It was so 'Hey! Here they are, what a pain!' in part one, and then 'Hand-wave, what Ancients?' in the second one. I would have liked to have seen at least a few of them survive.
I've never seen anorexic Sheppard in fic, but I don't understand why it would exist! How can someone run around and do all kinds of action things while being anorexic? Where would they get the energy?
(Plus, I hear that Atlantis totally wouldn't be down with it - the city is all about a healthy body image. It gets all pissy and won't open doors if people are too thin).
I would like some Ancients left too, even if just for a while. I know without them we keep more mystery about what things were like, but I'm sure that with some careful writing, their continued existence could have made for some fascinating story lines.

Exactly! It doesn't make sense to me, but I've seen it from more than one author, and I've seen people agreeing with the idea that he's too thin and doesn't eat properly - I just boggle at it!

Too right! And Atlantis is most definitely going to care for John!
I agree with you re: careful writing and story lines. I almost feel like the writers are too lazy to work with the Ancients in a meaningful way, you know?
I also wondered why there were no female Asurans (maybe because they refused to wear the codpiece-style clothing??)

Or maybe they couldn't find any female actors quite wooden enough to fit in with the male Asurans! They were so laughably bad. *pets them*

At least it gives the fan fic writers something to go at - the really brilliantly written shows often don't have half as much good fan fic as shows like SGA.
John is by no means anorexic, he's fit, he's lean, but still, he's got some weight behind him, it's more of an athletic build, see those muscles, see that way he wears that shirt..I've always thought that.
I had a bit of a hard time picking my favourite Rodney expression: that one just beat out the excited look he had telling Jack and Wolsey about their pretend-plan!

That bit just killed me dead. (And made me wonder if DH won a drama award as a kid.)
