A cure for temptation (Skyfall, Bond/Q, admiration and envy + touching + UST) 1/3
Actually I'm pretty sure I almost managed to cheat my way through all five acts in one fic, I'm really proud of myself.Q sat by the window and pretended to be looking through his notes, but his eyes kept wandering to the bathroom, the large two-winged door that was wide open for no good reason other than Bond being a show-off, and anyway what kind of a hotel had bathrooms that were larger than most people's living rooms, with just as absurdly large doors? Right, the kind of hotel that James Bond stayed in, and Q in this case, because his fear of flying unfortunately couldn't save him from being sent to Paris to help Bond on a mission that would require a bit more technological know-how than England's finest had ( ... )

A cure for temptation, 2/3He had got used to that long ago. His job helped, being among people who valued and respected him for what he could do, and rationally Q knew that his brain was more valuable than the most capable soldier in the world. There was a reason MI-6 risked Bond's life without a second thought, while they didn't let Q go anywhere without a few bodyguards shadowing him (he pretended not to notice, but he wasn't an idiot). Of course, that also had something to do with the fact that Bond could actually take care of himself in a dangerous situation, but that wasn't the point. But no matter how irrational it was, it still stung, seeing Bond's perfectly honed body, the scars and wounds he had accumulated in years of service, a service that would always be seen as greater and more valuable than Q's. He wondered what it was like, being Bond. Having the same unshakeable trust in his body that Q had in his mind. Not ever deciding not to do something just because it sounded too dangerous. Feeling people's eyes follow him ( ... )

A cure for temptation, 3/3Bond didn't say anything, but he cocked his head just a bit to the side, angled it as if to kiss Q, and while part of Q was oddly curious to find out if Bond would actually go through with the motion, if his professionalism wouldn't win out in the end, he was worried that his own resolve might not last once he felt Bond's lips on his own. He wanted him, but he would have him on his own terms. He wasn't going to be seduced like a brainless beauty in a casino, he wasn't going to swoon in Bond's arms as if he had never been kissed before. He might look like a shy boy just waiting to get ravished by a big strong man, and he would be lying if he said he never enjoyed that fantasy himself, but he was certainly not going to give James Bond of all people the satisfaction of seeing him like that ( ... )

Linnnnn, you did an amazing job of putting so many wonderful things in this. Yesss. And oh god Q's sense of his own value which is at once deservedly high but simultaneously conflicted because of the environment he grew up in and the sorts of masculinities which were esteemed by his family and his peers. Glorious. And Q playing Bond the way Bond plays most people is wonderful to behold. YES. That slight competitive edge there. Eeee. They are like glorious equals who are equal in nothing but make up for each other's deficits perfectly. Anyway, anyway, I want to reread this and quote things back at you but then I would probably miss the bus and I cannot do a Bond-on-the-tube and just jump on when the bus is already in motion so I might squee at you more about this later, after the joys of working on a Sunday are done with. Reading this is almost certainly going to be the awesomest thing which happens to me today though. (; Thank you as always, bro. :D

(This might be one of the strangest things I've written, but I hope you like it anyway!)

And We Drown [Coriolanus, Coriolanus/Aufidius, Trust issues + Admiration and envy + Violence] 1/2

It’s never easy between them.

They started in violence, there’s no way to get away from that. They were both born for war. Born and bred for it and he doesn’t have Coriolanus’ formidable mother but sometimes he thinks that’s the only difference between them. They are two sides of the same coin. And so it is fitting, inevitable, that they should’ve merged together so even before they merged properly - fists in ribs and claws across skin and scars so deep that not all of them can be accounted entirely physical ( ... )

And We Drown [Coriolanus, Coriolanus/Aufidius, Trust issues + Admiration and envy + Violence] 2/2It starts with Coriolanus throwing him up against the wall, a physical fact. They haven’t even been arguing, this is just the way that they choose to relate. It passes for affection, almost, their brutal kind of love. The man crowds in closer, kisses him like they’re drowning. He bites like they’re coming back to life in return, earns a rumbled note of pleasure as he debates softly on just how to cut the poison out ( ... )

There are not enough synonyms for glorious and perfect and this to sum up how much I love this fic. OH MY GOD. I saw that you had posted it and that it was Coriolanus/Aufidius and I dropped everything I was doing because just had to read it right away - and I am so glad I did. If this is one of the strangest things you've written, maybe you should think about writing more strange things because, while I'm not sure I'd call it strange, my god would I call it good ( ... )

Eeee, thank you very much! :D I worried that it was a touch too dreamy, but I'm so glad that you liked it! And, I must admit, I saw Coriolanus/Aufidius on your list and immediately went "YEP. WRITING THAT". I just watched the 2011 film a few weeks back and finally discovered just how homoerotic it was, and I've been meaning to write fic ever since then so it's wonderful to finally get around to it! And thank you for having it on your list ( ... )
