Given GLaDOS's nature as a sentient disc-operating system, her powers within the City are as follows:
  • Advanced technopathy -- the ability to communicate with all other forms of robotic, computer, or machine devices and access data, records, and memory (the most applicable application of this being hacking encrypted posts).
  • The ability to infect any ( Read more... )

OKAY BATTLE OF THE TECHNOPATHS

Rimmer, Shulkie and Vimes are fair game, and hopefully they'll never piss her off. (Although Shulkie could probably suck in a lungful of neurotoxin and be fine.)

Weasel, on the other hand, is ALSO a technopath, and he's been systematically upgrading his Comm/computer connections so they're as secure as possible. It could come down to them duking it out in the electronic ether. So. Perhaps that can be a fun first plot? :D?

Just to clarify Rimmer -- he is a hologram, correct? But, self-contained? I'm not exactly sure how that works in the Red Dwarf universe, so I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any weirdness that GLaDOS may pick up on and be like AKSDFwhut about.

also. I AM ALL FOR BATTLE OF THE TECHNOPATHS. in fact, this was one of the things that i was hoping to do with her if folks were interested! i would imagine that GLaDOS isn't particularly delicate at first with the way that she goes tromping around, banging on people's privacy filters, etc, so he probably becomes aware of her presence pretty fast. also, the way she will be introducing herself will be fairly "attention grabbing" so that will probably also raise a red flag to weasel. ANYWAYS! tl;dr I HAVE TO GO TO WORK BUT THINK ON IT! i've got a busy start to the week, but i'd be totally for doing some plotting as far as CLASH OF THE TECHNOPATHS is concerned. /cues dramatic music!

...Oh snap, I didn't even THINK of that, for Rimmer. o_o

Okay, here's the thing. The light bee is totally unconnected to any sort of network at all. Reason for this is that technically, he needs Holly to make him work. However, since the show handwaves this, so do I. (For example, they never explain how he can be around at ALL during Series VI, when Holly has been dismantled.)

The other thing is, his light bee is floating in the middle of an invulnerable body. So GLaDOS could very well sense it, but wouldn't be able to touch it to do anything to it.

Unless he went soft light. Then all bets are off.

Sound good?

You can fuck with mine as much as you want! Except. Ask before killing them? :D? Also I doubt it would work on Lust or Riful in the first place.

I'd say ask before messing with Selina, just because she has so much on her plate?

Satsuki's an uber mystical technopath, so I think she and GLaDOS would get along rather than G trying to kill her :3
