This is being a short but extremely hectic week, workwise: maternity leave cover person doesn't start till next week; one member of dept, and admin person, off all week; various other whole and part-day absences by other members of our team (we were down to 2 of us today). We make people put their essentials into transparent plastic carrier bags, though handbags are allowed: but not briefcases. We also get readers who are surprised to be asked to use pencils, not pen, to take notes, because 'I'm not going to write on the documents'.
