"Canon-compliant" for things the author didn't intend
I just had a thought about "canon-compliant." Let me say this first in a non-spoilery way, then I'll use an example from Deathly Hallows.
If a character X appears to die in a book, but it doesn't come right out and say 'yes they're dead', then saying X didn't die could, technically, still be canon-compliant. This is similar to the way we all know ( Read more... ) -
