Haiku party: Сrane, tsuru 鶴 -- Хайковская вечеринка: Журавль.

Dear friends, welcome to the HAIKU PARTY " Crane -- tsuru 鶴 ". Some of you may remember that we had such haiku parties before in this LJ -- see it under the tag. Crane is a kigo for different seasons, and this one is a Landing Crane -- let's consider it a spring kigo, in Japan it's called hikizuru 引鶴 (cranes going back). There is even a haiku group

Спасибо, Лариса! Ну ничего -- хоть тут послужит на благо, так сказать :) Я много подобных нарисовала, но большинство из них вот так расплылись (впервые в жизни у меня так получилось при наклеивании на основу!), и парочку ещё покажу потом, по другим поводам.

Если ты хочешь в прошедшем времени, то тогда came back (если в настоящем -- comes back). А какой окончательный вариант ты хочешь взять? Тот и подправим :)

Oh, I think I got it: is it about a girl (a woman) with long legs, who might be watching the crane landing?

This is your haiku in Russian:

журавль спускается
длинные ноги коснулись земли
а смотрит она на север

Hmm, this is one challenging haiku to translate, you know! The biggest trouble is that Russian words are generally longer than English ones (as you can see). I think I'll also ask my Russian friends for suggesitons of (possible) shorter versions ... hopefully!

Yeah, you read what you like into it :-)) S'far as I see it, it's the girl crane's job to do the nest and eggs bit, while he struts around offering the odd stick or two. Here she has to rest on her way north but her mind stays on her destination.

This is one cute ku, and I'll mull it over more in order to offer a decent translation and to give this poem justice in Russian.
