David Yates, you got it all wrong. I was very disappointed with the Half-Blood Prince. All the best scenes were botched... when the hell did the Burrow burn down?! Holy crap! I just got back from the theater and I only just realized the Gaunts weren't in it. I thought we'd skipped over a chunk of backstory, but I couldn't remember what...
The "half-blood Prince" revelation was poorly done, too, although I think Steve Kloves is more to blame for that. And maybe Jo herself, because that whole bit was really contrived.

Daniel Radcliffe really surprised me by delivering a solid performance during the Felix Felicis scenes. When did he develop actual acting skills, and comic timing? His mannerisms there reminded me strangely of Tenth Doctor.

I'm with you on Dumbledore's death scene. I don't think there was any sense of how much the potion had weakened him-- mainly because the movie has him casually whipping up powerful and very visually distracting spells right after which really disrupted the pacing. There was no sense of urgency; the Inferi stuff destroyed that. (And the Inferi need to not look like Gollum. We know the zombie lake is secretly the Dead Marshes, but at least pretend to be original ( ... )
