MORE REGENCY PICTURES

Finally some decent pictures of the Regency dress! It is finished, apart from the raw seams on the left shoulder, some details on the right sleeve plus the small gap in the back. The dress really benefits from wearing my Renaissance chemise underneath, so I think I'll keep doing that. The bonnet isn't quite finished (needs some more decos), and I ( Read more... )

Hehe, very period surroundings.... But the light in my apartment is perfect for costume photos around one o'clock (in the day), so I'll try to take new photos of most of the newly-finished garbs at this hour.

But wouldn't it be cool if we went to Folkemuseet together to take some photos? :D

Folkemuseet, or even to Gamle Grav Gård (Steinerskolen i Bærum). And then we could borrow a dog and lots of props (old stuff) from my parents, who live next door. It would be even cooler to do this after I manage to make a regency dress of course.

i love your dress. ^_^

i was going to say i instantly recognized that sleeve detail because i want to do the same on a gown someday. i have the book that has pics of the extant gown... really pretty with the puffs and such.

be well,

Aww, you look cute Miss Bennett, good enough to eat!
As for ideas, maybe a red belt underneath the bosom, like the red colour you have on the buttons. That would look nice me thinks. But it's very nice as it is too.

What kind of belt? I like the idea, I'm just not sure what kind of belt one would wear in early Regency. Must look in The Bible (=Kyoto fashion book).

As for Bennetts, I fear I'm closest to Mary.... Minus the piano skills! Hahaha.

Hm, bad choice of words on my part, I merely meant a red trimming under the bosom to mark that area. But maybe that isn't regency either? I'm not that good at the details of regency :).

Wow. Lovely dress!

Which reminds me - we were talking about a Jane Austen-film fest..? :)
