writer's block... dilemma
I always thought of myself as a writer. But it has been so long since anything was actually written in the vein of a story for me. The blurb from yesterday was early May when I had no book and only paper on the train... which I could do again, except even then it took me months to get it typed up. I've gone insane.
I've registered for a 5K that is 18 days away. Between flying halfway around the world and deciding that I can run, I believe I've officially lost it.
That said, future living situation is up in the air at present. I know the who (finally) but not the where or when. You'd think the last part would be the easiest, right?

Plans and pieces of plans
I finished Palimpsest today. It made me sad to see it end. I feel I intentionally read it in fairly small pieces, in effort to make it last longer.
China tickets are bought, visa to be picked up on Tuesday, barring some strange acquisition of a criminal background on my part. I should be ok.

Oh the possibilities
China looms large in my potential future.
Airfares are still beyond reasonable.
And I have a friend who is going also. To stay with family. Who would let me stay with them.
Visas are affordable.
How can I refuse?

Cross country train trips are jealousy-inspiring.
Running a mile in under 10 minutes is an achievement.
Running a mile in under 8 minutes is unheard of - until a couple of weeks ago, the last time I ran a mile was in 8th grade. And even then it took me closer to 12 (I would have walked it faster).
