This is what goes through my head when I think about the birthers whining about needed to see the actual birth certificate.

We all know that they would not be satisfied when tehy saw it anyway and would call it "fake".

Yeah, I have the same "incomplete" birth certificate that Barack Obama has, so I get extra annoyed.

Mine doesn't have a doctor, hospital, footprints, or whatever the hell the Birthers want. Just a time, date, place, my parents' names, and a county clerk's stamp.

I've been able to get a driver's license, a U.S. passport, enlist in the military, and obtain a security clearance. Nobody has ever asked me for a "long form" birth certificate.

My mother watched this today and apparently takes anything Donald Trump says as gospel. She was going on in the car about how Obama won't show his birth certificate blah blah blah. Although to be fair this is probably the first time she's actually heard about the birther thing (we're Canadian and she only really watches local news)

UGH even IF magically somehow Obama was not born in Hawaii, his mother was so to me this issue should stop being brought up.

I do believe Obama was born in Hawaii. But the Constitution requires the President to be a natural born citizen, I.e. his parents conferring American citizenship on him does not meet that status.

ah ok it was my understanding that if one of your parents were American you could be considered American no matter where you were born and basically just have dual citizenship.

for all other requirements other than being president, yes, citizenship by blood (parents) is adequate. for that, you need citizenship by soil (being born in the US). we're weird like that.
