Just a note...in the future, this sort of thing would be best suited to Shenanigans Friday. And unfortunately there's no way for us to sticky posts :(

You could always future-date the post and then change it back once you no longer wanted it at the front. That works for personal journals, at least, not sure about comms.

Doesn't work in comms; comm posts are arranged according to the server time they were posted at, not the time they are showing. That's because comms are often posted to from multiple timezones, meaning that sorting by the time the post shows would lead to confusion because new posts would appear before older posts, depending on their timezones.

First, welcome! Fandom is way cool.

Fair warning: D*C is not like other cons. It's, like, thirty or forty other cons. Much, MUCH larger than a typical con. The parts of the con tend to be more focused on themselves than at other conventions, as well.

Figure out what you'd like to do and see, and make a plan. There is a LOT of programming, which you can find out by going to the con's web site and getting the pocket programIt's a good idea to bring decent snacks for a few days, in case you can't get to the mall (between the Hyatt and the Marriott) and the lobby shops run out of food. (The mall has a Dairy Queen with decent cheap burgers, a few good sandwich shops, a bulk-tempura Japanese restaurant, etc

Sleep 10-12 hours a night between now and Wednesday night. And make sure you sleep at least 4-5 hours a night during con. Con crud is no joke.

Absolutely. Forget not the Rule of 5-2-1: At least 5 hours of sleep, 2 good meals, and 1 shower every day of the con.
