If any PacNW state goes red first, it would be Oregon. Sry, Repubs.

Yeah, I live in Oregon, and I have to agree. Washington is definitely more liberal. And in 2000, Gore only won Oregon by what? Five thousand votes?

Fortunately I don't think either Oregon or Washington are going red again any time soon.

Definitely not! I know Washington's conservative east side grew a little pinker during the last election, so it gives me hope we'll all stay cozy and blue for forever.

Oregon also gave the boot to Gordon "Hay guize just pretend I'm a Democrat k?" Smith to give us two Democratic senators last year, so I definitely think Oregon is getting bluer. It probably helps that Portland continues to grow and grow, since it's Portland and Eugene that keep Oregon from being a red state.

In that first map, I love how Illinois is totally just chillin' in the middle of all those red states, not even pretending to be embarrassed. And because it doesn't care, all the other red states just assume it's supposed to be at the party and aren't kicking it outside with the rest of the blues. :D

Yeah, that's because even if the entire Republican party banded together, they STILL could not trump the Chicago Political Machine. It's THAT entrenched.

(That's not necessarily a good thing.)

. . .Man, I looooove my state. In a manner that may or may not be completely sarcastic, I refuse to confirm or deny. ;)

On one hand, it's like "Yay! Democrats!" On the other, it's like "But 99.9999999999999% of them suck..."

-_-*
