Every single day, with every single "lol let's defund this stuff!" each and every person that voted R should be calling and saying "where's the jobs bill"

But they won't.

Bc with the election over everyone will stop caring.

Everything is just so demoralizing about this. They talk a big game about ~sanctity of life for pregnancies meanwhile they want to pull healthcare from thousands and put some people at real risk of death. It's despicable.

Hey but it's OK because we stuck it to the neoliberals, right?

Nah. I couldn't have voted for a Dem even if I wanted to considering the DNC / state Dems have completely given up on my district and most of the districts in Virginia aside from the few urban areas. I suspect it is the same in many other places, especially as Clinton's campaign had a serious problem with hoarding all the national money because a rising tide lifts all ships or whatever excuse her team used to justify not spreading the funding to other candidates in other places.

And the Neolibs really wouldn't fight that hard to protect it to begin with. They'd just let funding bleed out via compromise and "greater good" principle that at least they saved Medicare and Social Security.

Hillary as POTUS would have vetoed that shit before you could say pro-life. But hey, everyone from whom she wasn't progressive ENOUGH can be satisfied that they got to stick it to the neolibs.

And there are enough Rs that it would have been easy to hamstring her big time by threatening other areas ( ... )

What made Paul Ryan wake up one day and decide to be evil

Too much Atlas Shrugged, not enough real life experience since he could always fall back on Daddy's Dime.

There's a part of me that's wondering if this is Paul Ryan's sneaky way of trying to torpedo the ACA repeal. From what I understand, most Americans don't want a repeal with a replacement ready, which the GOP doesn't have. But, the GOP is determined to move forward with their "Repeal Obamacare!" campaign promises. Most Americans also don't agree with defunding Planned Parenthood, and there are a couple Republican women senators who have resisted the GOP on this. So if they add this amendment to the repeal, and it gets defeated, Ryan can say, "Hey we tried, but those damn abortionists!" and save face that way.

Not that it makes it any more evil, but adds that dash of cowardly that epitomizes the GOP right now.
