Dems remain wishy-washy and spineless, what's new. I get they're afraid of alienating anyone, but still.

Wishy-washy and spineless is the perfect way to describe the Democratic party these days. Alienating some people in the short term by taking a stand when they need to (and this is pretty damn necessary) would make for a healthier party in the long run, IMO.

House Democrats were also advised to say that police violence requires a national conversation, and to acknowledge that “a history of systemic racism continues to confront the daily lives of African Americans.”

if only... there was... a way... to start this... conversation...

I'd bet money that the utter lack of accountability in our political system is the primary reason for voter disillusionment. It is for me. I still vote, but I don't honestly believe it makes a single bit of difference on any real level.

If it's not primary it's got to be right up there. We've hit a level of blatant that is nigh on impossible to ignore.

OT: I so wish we had a Trump in Mexico live post rn. It would be the perfect opportunity to drunk blog. Potential epic clusterfuck. Most likely big ol' heap o' nothing. No American reporters on the ground. Press stranded in Arizona. Photos of a helicopter allegedly transporting the nominee. It's like OJ all over again. Watching English and Spanish live blogs in parallel. Joint press conference of two of the least popular people in the country. The only thing that could make it better is a gavel.

You can follow on Univision, Guardian ES and Guardian EN. Probably a few other places too, but I'm not up on all the Hispanic media in the US. Nothing on Fusion that I can find.

Latest lolz courtesy of the White House press secretary .... "It is not uncommon, of course, for leading presidential candidates to make overseas trips. One of the highlights was a trip to Germany, where the president spoke in Berlin to a crowd of about 100,000 Germans who warmly received him and enthusiastically cheered his speech. We’ll see if Mr. Trump is similarly received." 😆😆😆

I'd submit but I think it's a bit late now?
