Why can't people just go to the shelter and adopt a dog or a cat?

There are plenty of pets besides dogs or cats, you know.

Unfortunately they aren't legal in my state, but I did once get to pet sit for a friend who had smuggled them in.

“good to go,”

Where, though? Poor thing; I wonder what they're going to do with it.

I can't speak for Toronto cuz I'm from the US but I took it as the phrase "good to go", meaning everything is good, the monkey is unharmed, etc.

Yeah, I read it that way, too.

Yeah, I figured. :) I was just wondering where they were planning on sending him. Sounds like he's going to a sanctuary.

I second the woman who said who brings a monkey to IKEA. Poor little thing.

On the other hand, omg its little coat <3

I'm wondering if they could take it to a zoo, but if it's been a pet, maybe it won't know how to interact with the other monkeys. :/

My cousin's zoo has already had a meeting to discuss whether or not they will make a bid to adopt it into their programs. They have experience with delinquent monkeys, and are an hour from Toronto.

Aw, that's good. :) It's better for it to be around other monkeys.

Depending on this little guy's disposition, he would probably either be kept in the office (for congenial, socialized but solo monkeys) or in the retirement area with the other cantankerous monkey who developed a 5 finger discount habit.

Yes, but just look at the sadness in his eyes. It's clear his wealth has not brought him happiness. :p
