The Constitutional Crimes of Barack Obama

Nov 08, 2012 12:19

by DAVE LINDORFF

As we slog towards another vapid, largely meaningless exercise in pretend democracy with the selection of a new president and Congress this November, it is time to make it clear that the current president, elected four years ago by so many people with such inflated expectations four years ago (myself included, as I had hoped, vainly ( Read more... )

He is, in truth, a war criminal easily the equal of his predecessor, George W. Bush, and perhaps even of Bush’s regent, former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Yeah, this is were I stopped reading.

I feel you OP, and I agree with most of the information of this article, with a couple of exceptions. But...this is not the time to be posting these types of articles. This community doesn't want to hear this information now, they don't want to know, many Obama supporters refuse to consider such things. Give it six months. Okay, a lot still won't want to hear this information, but you won't get as much scorn (just the usual silence).

You know, I am getting really sick and tired of this stupid-ass crap getting hauled out every time. If we refuse to give consideration to poor, faulty rhetoric with no sources we just "haven't seen the light." How about someone posting something with actual facts rather than paranoid delusional bullshit, and then we'll talk. Jesus.

Just the way many conservatives refuse to consider that he's actually a better president for this country! Bye, now.

I have no illusions that the current even more craven and spineless Congress, even with the House in the hands of Republicans, would seek to impeach this president. Indeed, many of the crimes listed above involve activities that the Republicans in Congress themselves actively support and are thus also guilty of, such as threatening Iran with war, supporting the ongoing theft of the nation’s wealth by the financial industry, or ignoring the threat of climate change.

Oh yeah, this writer is totally a republican supporter.

Doesn't matter. His overblown paranoid commentary still undermines any credibility he wants to have.

I know, this community only accept hyperbole when it comes to the criticism of Bush and the Republicans. When it comes to criticising Obama we must all be very polite, and use restrained language and couch it with lots of disclaimers about how complex the situation is and how we understand the other side. I know.

This entire thing needs a big fat 'citation needed'/delusion included flag. Of the three things I actually know about, he is wrong all three.

ikr, a secret terrorist war against iran -- are you kidding me with this shit?

Reply

belleweather November 8 2012, 21:29:47 UTC
Yeah, totally. The first big neon-signing included clue is where it goes "Under the UN Charter/US Law" and doesn't cite where -- protip, that's 'cause the UN Charter isn't binding law in the US, and there's no Federal Criminal Statute that applies. Which is short for "'cause you're wrong". And being obviously wrong in the first paragraph bodes ill for the rest of the article, y'know?

before i begin:
DRONE STRIKES ARE A BAD THING.
WE SHOULD NOT BE DOING THEM.
I THINK THAT THE PUBLIC NEEDS TO PUSH OBAMA TO STOP DOING THEM.

now that we've got that out of the way, this article is a huge pile of steaming crazy. a secret terrorist war against iran? the killing of osama was an act of "continuing the cover-up of the truth about that event which precipitated the current crisis of American democracy"?? jesus fucking fuck. judging the shit out of anyone who takes this shit seriously.

Yes, this. I'm against the drone strikes that keep Pakistani citizens in terror. It doesn't require a conspiracy theory to decry them, though.

ikr? I told my grandmother that I had qualms with the Pakistani drone strikes and how I thought we were making new enemies by doing this and she told me I sounded like a Republican. o_O
