The Constitutional Crimes of Barack Obama

by DAVE LINDORFF

As we slog towards another vapid, largely meaningless exercise in pretend democracy with the selection of a new president and Congress this November, it is time to make it clear that the current president, elected four years ago by so many people with such inflated expectations four years ago (myself included, as I had hoped, vainly ( Read more... )

There are legitimate issues in Obama's foreign policy. Crazy theories about sekrit wars in Iran are not one of them. This dude is a nutso.

Probably sticking my head above the parapet here but having a written constitution seems awfully limiting sometimes.

Er...I think that's kind of the point...

Isn't that the same source as the article written by the cis, straight, Catholic, white man who thought that swing state voters should vote third party?

Um, what does that have to do with this critique of Obama's foreign policy and the general expansion of executive powers?

Nothing. I hadn't had coffee yet and now I can't edit to make it clear that my reply was an OT question. =/

I definitely think that the author raises some legitimate points about the expansion of executive powers and foreign policy under the Obama administration, but the alarmist nature of this article and claims about some sort of "9/11 cover-up" and "terrorist attacks inside Iran" certainly do not lend credibility to the author's legitimacy.

Just as the author of the piece I mentioned was essentially engaging in a long, literary piece of intellectual narcissism, this article seems to be serving a similar purpose. It certainly isn't aimed at reporting factually.

Yep, that's fair. There are probably a lot better sources / analyses of this idea. I'll post one some day!

Some of the rhetoric may be a little off, but all of the bolded part are interesting and relevant. Thanks for posting.

This might be a better article. FYI it doesn't mention Iran at all, it calls it a secret war because the majority of Democrats have no clue what drone strikes even are.

That article is definitely far better and less alarmist in terms of rhetoric. Have you submitted it to the queue?

Honestly I'm not in the mood to read comments full of people politely disagreeing with the drone war, when those same people would be absolutely outraged if Romney were doing the same thing. Hell, the same people who marched in the streets 8 years ago for peace are the same people who don't care now, because now it's being done by a Democrat, which makes it justifiable.
