I don't think it has to be drastic hacking and slashing cuts either, but I feel like there's a lot of unnecessary waste going on and cutting that would definitely help. And honestly, I actually want to work in military/homeland security/defense research & development. But I still feel there's a lot of waste in the system and it would benefit everyone to get rid of it.

Hell, I work for a company that is a subcontractor for the military (at least my part of it) and I totally agree.

Welcome to the logical side. Where spending money the right makes it go farther and makes sense.
