Despite last night's episode lack of exciting things, how do you think it sets up for the last three and a half hours? Do you think it sets it up at all, or do you think it was just Darlton trying to fill some time?

I did not get the feeling that this episode was necessary this late in the game. Like I can't see how that set up anything to come immediately after. It could have been earlier. Or it could have been flashback.

Also I can't imagine how Darlton could be down with filler episodes when there are so many other things that need to be answered / so many cast members to fit in to the last three and a half hours. I mean, this was filler, but it was necessary.

Does anyone know who is directing the penultimate?

According to wiki, Jack Bender is directing.

YESSS.
Bender is the only one who knows how to direct death scenes.

I'm just crossing my fingers. I know I'll love this show forever no matter what but I hope with this background information maybe it'll be easier for us. Or something.

Maybe they're like "Bro, almost all the episodes have to suck because the finale is going to blow these fuckers mindsss" and we'd be all, "Omg how did we ever doubt youuuuu!!!!!!!!!!111"

I really hoped this ep would have been better :(
I liked it but meh no answers.

Well for the finale I expect nothing and will be pleasantly surprised if it turns out to be great.
But I don't really think it will :((((

I now expect nothing too, I miss the first seasons when all we wondered about was where the polar bears came from

and if so...that world isn't half bad....perhaps the mommy was cray-cray and was protecting gold and thought it was magic light.

Okay so Isabella, Ben's Mommy, and Jacob's Real Mommy were shrouded in light when they talked to their loved ones, does that make them beings of the light and not the smoke monster?

I definitely caught that about Jacob's mom. I figure she's a ghostly presence *made possible by your local Light Source!

I wonder if after the MIB was thrown into the Light......did it damage the Light? The Light seemed to fade. Did it corrupt it and turn it to darkness? Did it change the island, so that now it is keeping darkness in check rather than protecting light?

I want Ben's mom to be real, herself, so much. If she was the Smoke Monster than that was a jerk move if you ask me! MiB would KNOW how that feels as a little boy.
