First world problems... jesscp December 31 2014, 17:09:41 UTC
...when Zlatan has better hair than you :'( ugh not fair!

Bale needs to cut his hair now and burn the headbands, I swear no one takes him seriously any more. Adding to that, Torres needs to get acquainted with some sun protection, his face is slightly showing signs of sun damage and ageing! For the immortal this is worrying!

Finally, do we really need yet another top 100 footballers of the year?! It's basically the same people in the same places or near enough for every countdown I've seen. What would be interesting for conversation, would be if there was a list of the top players in each position, as opposed to lumping them altogether! I guess that sounds like too much hard work though, right?!

LOL, I don't know what's with Spanish footballers and their aversion to sunscreen, tbh. Moreno and Manquillo are barely in their twenties, and they already have sun damage when you look at their foreheads and the corners of their eyes. Torres and Alonso's faces held up well in England because well... sun, what sun? But yeah, SPF sharpish, especially with Torres' skin looking a bit fragile.

Ugh, Bale. I'm just glad that under Pochettino, Tottenham seem to be looking up, so people aren't wringing their hands over Bale so much. Come on Kane and Ericsson, let the Spurs believe again. Come on ya COYS.

LOL, I agree with you re: the top footballers of the year list. It's all a big circlejerk, tbh, but in the interest of fairness, if I'm going to link one post, I might as well link all of 'em.

Yeah, Zlatan's hair is the business, no? It's thick, with bounce and body.

TBH a lot of men have aversion to sunscreen these days! They would rather get all wrinkled in the face or just burn and cause damage that way! The Australian blood in me panics about my face when I'm in the sun, I constantly reapply SPF, so my face always looks paler than the rest of me.

Yeah, Spurs have allowed themselves to be in the shadow of Bale since he left, so it's nice that they are starting to move away from that image. Hopefully they don't lose those boys in the transfer window.

I know I get you - it would be nice for the lists to be split though, I'm sure one diehard sports journalist out there could manage it! The fact we are comparing Neuer to Ronaldo etc... it just seems ridiculous.

Ugh I'm jealous. Zlatan's hair is thick yet straight with plenty of bounce aka I wish my hair was like that! My hair is dead straight and just so flat. I could backcomb for days and have more layers cut in AND I WOULD STILL HAVE NO VOLUME OR BOUNCE AT THE TOP OF MY HAIR. It's just miserable :(

Well, it helps that spurs has a good manager who doesn't seem to play favourites. If you're not performing, he drops you. Pochettino isn't married to anyone, and after working on a shoe string budget at Espanyol I think the PL is easier in that way - the fact that he can buy players if he wants (instead of having to sell his better ones) and Poch believes in academy talent. Under him Kane and Ericsson are really coming into their own - Soldado is still Soldado - shame, that. But yeah, Spurs are defining themselves, I think once the players get wedded into Poch's system (he likes the high press, his team to look for other teams on the field, and is trying to knit a decent defence so that Illoris isn't doing so much work! But that's a work in progress), I think if Spurs get into the top four, I wouldn't be mad ( ... )
