Mr. Scheuster is such a fucking creep. I don't see how anyone sees his character as sympathetic. This is just a general blanket statement, though the bit where he kisses Coach Bieste in "Never Been Kissed" was just. . .ugh.

Yeah, I highly doubt anything is being healed with the power of Will Scheuster's lips. The entire writing of that scene was fucked up and patronizing, anyway. I feel like if they'd kept her character remotely consistent, she would have reacted in a reasonable way to him kissing her. Like, not being grateful. And possibly punching him in the face.

I was kind of hoping she'd react to the musical apology with a "yeah that's great but you all still fucking suck."

I honestly thought they were going in that direction because her expression was so inscrutable in that scene, but no :(

The Walking Dead and I have a love-hate relationship. I hate Shane but I loved seeing him beat the shit out the guy that punched his wife.

I'm so sad there's only 6 episodes in the first season, wtf is that.

Yes. Another WD fan!

The racial slurs jarred me becauss I missed the first episode and literally came in on the second episode at the part on the rooftop.

Good news is we get 13 episodes next season!

I feel torn about Shane. He's a bit of an ass, but I'm glad he did what he did in the past episode.

But I want my 13 episodes nooooooow.

I'm more on the side of hating Shane because... ahhh he's just such a terrible person.

I suspect the severity of the beating had less to do with Shane wanting to protect Carol and Andrea from an abuser and more with reasserting his alpha dog status and treating his bruised masculinity after Laurie told him off.

I would have liked it a lot better if Andrea had taken Ed down.

Community, last week episode.
I mean, the idea that...
a) it's possible to chart women's periods
b) that you can have reliable information about someone's mood out of it
c) that every women wants chocolate when they are on their period

...piss me off. Everything that upholds the stereotypes of "~lol PMS amirite" makes me fucking angry these days. If you're a cis man, please shut the hell up.

Seriously. Along with the whole mean girls episode, this season Community has really been failing on the female characters' plot lines.

Don't get me started on the Mean girl episode I will never stop. I got into the biggest argument with my best friend because of it.

But bottom line, saying "bitches" are "bad person" and thus "deserves bad thing" made me physically sick. This kind of line of thoughts has just done so much wrong and caused so much pain I can't even...

This. Even though I do get a little emotionally imbalanced and have cravings when I'm menstruated, the fact that anyone (outside, maybe, of the people I live with) could tell WHEN I am thus without me letting them know just because of how I've been 'acting lately' is laughable. Especially because when I'm annoyed I'm annoyed, and I'm going to retaliate. And guess what? Any time of the month works for that kind of thing to happen.

And yeah, I've got the BIGGEST beef with the dismissal of our real concerns with "she's just on her period, leave her alone" and this is not helping.

Weeds finale was super great. Nancy Botwin is a boss.

I ADORE NANCY BOTWIN AND I DON'T CARE WHO KNOWS IT.

I love how she's everything she's not supposed to be and how she continuously avoids her "comeuppance" and takes down anyone who gets in her way.

I mean she's obviously not perfect but I think that's kind of the point. I love that there's a character like this on my TV. She's not a damn role model, or superhero, or "love interest." She's the star of the show!

And I like to rag on her parenting but she's no worse than Don Draper and people still root for his chauvinist ass, so.

Me too! I love that she can be totally unlikeable and selfish but she's our protagonist and is so interesting it doesn't matter if we always "like" her. I feel like there are a lot of male characters like her on TV, but not female and I'm grateful to have her.

And I like to rag on her parenting but she's no worse than Don Draper and people still root for his chauvinist ass, so.

HOLY SHIT THIS. Obviously, Nancy is a horrible parent, like duh, but I HATE that she gets so much shit for it while people love all over Don Draper every time he's nice to Sally, or whatever.

Plus she did the most surprising thing she could have done and actually took responsibility for something! While managing to her boys in the clear and own Esteban's gross ass all at once. Amazing.

Yeah. I mean, I used to say "oh I don't feel sorry for her" when her sons would talk back or turn on her or whatever. Doesn't mean I think she deserved to be executed! Once the bad guys show up, I'm back to cheering her on.

I actually would have been cool with them ending the series with that finale. I don't know what the hell they are going to do next season.

It's like she's finding herself because of a man?

Yeah. :-/

And then Jimmy forced sex with Angela and I just wanted to bash him in the head with something. UGH.

YES! I am loving this series and loving the complex portrayal of gender issues and female characters.

Although I'm still pissed at Martin Scorcese for supporting Roman Polanski. >:[[[
