Tieria drifted into the party shortly behind Reborn, knowing that left to his own the devices as late, the man could find himself in some pretty impressive trouble. However, he also knew that if he was there, he could more adequately watch to make sure that trouble was kept at bay ( ... )

Setting down his glass, Lockon eyed the slender man standing by himself in the corner. Despite trying to look neutral, there was a slight crease in between his eyebrows.

A faint thrill of recognition went through him as he sidled up to the man. One last look at his suit clad form.

"Can I buy you a drink?" he asked, unable to hide his grin.

Tieria startled slightly at this strange request, giving what might have been interpreted as "the evil eye" -- but for him was, well, really just "the eye" -- and glancing briefly at the glass in his hand.

"It's a party," he said finally, raising an eyebrow. "The drinks are free."

It really shouldn't be this hard to not smile. Lockon nodded, conceding the point.

"That's true!" he said, eyes twinkling. "But how else am I supposed to start up a conversation when the show's on a break?"

Kristoph arrived, with Mazikeen on his arm. He had told her earlier about his dastardly plot, of course, and now that they were finally here, he was very exited to actually work through it. He'd tested it with his own men, and everything had gone too swimmingly for Kristoph not to be excited. There was, of course, a number of other reasons for him to be stoked about being here: Kaoru, Gin, and of course, high-class entertainment. That was always a good reason to be anywhere. Gossip would be flying. The only Kristoph wished was that he could explore the entire place; he was fairly certain some places would be Monacello-only.

How unfortunate.

Ah, well, he thought to himself.

He was dressed stunningly, his white tuxedo making him seem even paler than usual. His coat pocket was filled only with his two phones, both firmly locked, though clearly iPhones, and he had to admit, he felt naked without all the protection he normally carried. It would be all right, though, for on his two middle fingers were two silver bands, and in them sat ( ... )

To be honest, Mazikeen was not one for fancy things. Despite her privileged upbringing her mother had taught her how to appreciate the simpler things in life, and in being raised so, Mazikeen preferred jeans and leather to frills and expensive fabric. That did not mean, however, that she did not know how to wear a proper dress. Over the years they had spent together, Gavin had proven to be quite the influence, and although the layers of fabric that flowed around her would not be her normal choice for attire, Mazikeen knew how to move in it properly -- maintaining a picture of feminine grace that she knew Kristoph would approve of.

With a gracious smile, Mazikeen played a silent shadow to Krisoph's social butterfly as he moved into the elaborate space with amazing presence and ease. Her slender frame draped with lilac silk and plum tulle, she allowed her fingers to wander to the small bauble around her neck -- a small glasslike sphere that, when thrown, would shatter with hiss of acid. It was either this, or poison, but that was ( ... )

Kaoru had been wandering around all night, saying hello to people he knew and people he didn't. He had spent a great deal of the early evening upstairs, but finally decided to descend the stairs and move over to the buffet table.

Popping a piece of cheese in his mouth and looking around, Kaoru realized just how vastly different all of this was from the events they used to host through the club.

'They'... even now he thought about Hikaru and himself in a group context.

That was when he started looking for some of his invited guests in the crowd again, to distract himself.

"Mr. Hitachiin."

He noted the man after stepping inside and headed that way to give his complements. The designer was, of course, dressed stunningly. "This is incredible. You have my compliments for all the hard work and beauty you've put in this place. I'm really quite impressed with everything. And you, of course, are dressed the part of the successful designer."

He smiled.

"Do you think we could talk later? Perhaps tomorrow. I've a couple of small matters I'd like to bring up with you, but this is hardly the environment for it. "

Kaylee was running late... fashionably late, she believed the term was. She'd just gotten off the train an hour prior, and rushed through her shower so she could spend time making herself look all shiny. She was still slightly breathless as she handed her invitation over and passed through the security check, and she idly smoothed down the front of her dress with one hand, the other clutching a simple handbag.

Now she just had to find Sam.

Believe it or not, Dean actually did have some formal outfits up in the old closet aside from the usual torn jeans and t-shirt. It was necessary for big, formal family gatherings or a meeting with the Don. He pulled out a fruity number that he wore only once a few years ago. Loosened his tight, moussed his hair, and shrugged on a matching gray blazer for the occasion.

Originally, he was not planning on attending a fucking fashion show held by a Monacello brat, but he heard rumors about free food and a ton of available chicks.

Dude, models.

Naturally, he had to arrive. Not to mention he had to make sure Sam was being a good date for their friend, Kaylee.

Upon arrival, he had to go through an annoying weapons check. Good thing that Dean planned this all ahead of time just in case. He had a few contacts working on staff already in the Hitachiin building, and a text message from Kris confirmed the security. One of his dear friends on the inside was holding a little, special gift for him when he came. It didn't take long to force his ( ... )

Kaylee managed not to yelp too loudly when she felt a tap on her shoulder, and she whirled around only to see Dean. She beamed up at him, quite relieved to be just a little less alone in the crowd of people who looked like they attended these shindigs all the time.

"Oh, no," she replied with a bit of a laugh. "I haven't seen Sam yet, if that's who you mean."

"He's not here?" He checked his watch to make sure he got the time right, then back up at Kaylee. Dean pursed his lips, clearly disappointed in his little brother for ditching his date. "I'll give him a call if he doesn't show up in five. How's that sound?"

Kiyone wandered around the room, mingling and observing. She chose to attend mostly out of curiousity. Fashion was of no interest to her but the people in attendance were. What better place to observe than at a large, formal gathering?

She chose to sit at the bar for now, ordering a modest soda instead of an alcoholic beverage. Her feet hurt from the high heels that matched the dress she borrowed from a friend. For now she would have to deal with it, and continue to watch the other guests.

Lulu arrived at the party, dressed to the nines as always, casually scanning the room for the Meira brothers as she took in the scene.

Soiree had asked her to consider being her date, and since she wasn't engaged to work that evening, she had agreed--but somehow she had neglected to inquire whether he would pick her up or if they would simply meet there. She hoped he wouldn't be too upset that she'd arrived on her own. She wasn't used to conventional dating anymore.

She also wondered if Alba would be attending with one of the young ladies his brother had attempted to set him up with...or if the brothers realized she'd offered to go with them both.

Of course...if her date and/or dates didn't show up soon...she wouldn't be surprised if she would have to fend of a few more admirers before the night was through. Poor Soiree would certainly have his work cut out for him if he wanted to reclaim her.

Though he was still new in town, Taejo had been searching for some kind of distraction until his racing car arrived. A tip from a woman named Lulu had pointed him in the direction of this fashion show, and it would certainly be a welcome distraction. After making his way through the line and the weapon check, Taejo smiled to himself as he cast his gaze about. A woman nearby caught his eye, and he made his way toward her, at ease in his surroundings.

"Pardon me," he said gently as he approached from one side. "I was wondering if you would mind some company?"

"Oh," Lulu said, pursing her lips prettily around the delighted sound, as she turned to face the speaker. "Not at all. I'll give you fair warning, I'm supposed to be meeting a friend, but I wouldn't mind your company a bit." She smiled, giving the young man a subtle glance up and down appreciatively, thinking he seemed familiar. "My name is Lulu," she added, extending her hand in greeting. "Pleased to meet you...Zhulong, is it?"

Taejo's smile shifted toward warmth when she spoke, though surprise soon followed when she introduced herself. "Yes, I am Zhulong. It is nice to meet you in person, Miss Lulu." He bowed just enough to be polite. "It would be an honor to keep you company."
