Kame trained his eyes on the leather ball, feets shifting slightly, hands firmly fisted around the bat, opening and closing spasmodically as the pitcher threw his arm back. All his world was reduced to the round object, all that mattered was the pitcher’s arm shooting forward and releasing the ball. It seemed to move in slow motion as it flew toward Kame, and he swung the bat.

The sound of wood hitting leather resounded loud and clear in Kame’s ears as the bat hit its aim. He took a fleeting moment to watch the ball flying like a rocket through the sky before breaking in a desesperate run to the base, straining his legs to their limit. He practically threw himself toward the base, dirt and mud covering his uniform, and a second later the audience was standing, cheering, screaming. Kame looked up, breathing heavily, and raised his fist in a victory sign as he screamed too, the air burning his lungs as he tried to regain his breath.

The audience’s voice had mixed into one as the alarm clock rang, waking up from his beautiful dream a very displeased Kamenashi Kazuya, who swatted his hand toward the alarm clock, groaning as the vague thought that the cheering voice right then in his mind sounded surprisingly similar to Jin’s annoying one made its way into his mind.

Kame stretched his tired arms. He was on cleaning duty with Eri that week but the girl had asked him to take care of it all himself so she could look after her toddler sister that afternoon. Kame was already bad at saying ‘no’, and the girl’s smile had finally made him told her to go and not to worry about anything. Eri had smiled brightly at him, promising to treat him to dinner to make up to him as she hastly picked up her bag and coat, and giving him a kiss on the cheek that had Kame blushing and stammering over his words as she left the classroom.

Of course, having to do it all alone it had took a lot longer than it would usually had, and by the time he finished he was tired and sweaty, sneezing because of the dust. He stuffed his cleaning rag in his bad and threw it over his shoulders, leaving the door’s classroom closed after him. The school was already desserted, but there were loud noises coming from the soccer field. He was surprised to find Jin and his friends playing there. Jin was in control of the ball, running with it toward the goal. He kicked it hard, scoring a goal, and a second later his teammates were cheering loudly, ruffling his hair and patting his back. Jin laughed, raising his fist in a victory sign, and then suddenly spotted Kame watching them. He squealed delighted and started running toward his friend, who readied himself to run in the opposite direction.

A pained yelp made Kame halt and turn around just to see Jin falling to the ground, face contorted in pain as he grabbed his ankle. In a moment he was surronded by his friends, who helped him up and supported him as he made his way to a bench. Kame run toward him, a worried look on his eyes. However, Jin was laughing sheepishly, being wacked on the head by his friends. He scratched his head when he saw Kame, and waved at him.

“Hey Kame-chan. It seems like I’ve twisted my ankle...” The boy who was near Jin rolled his eyes, mumbling a resignated ‘idiot’. Kame could recognize him as one of Jin’s closest friends. “But don’t worry! Pi will help me home and....”

“I can take you home if you want!” Jin looked up surprised when Kame spoke. The younger boy blushed slightly, feeling Jin’s friends looking at him. “I- I mean, you’re all playing here and I have nothing to do s- so I could help you back home? So they don’t have to stop playing...”

Jin beamed, nodding happily. He held onto a boy to get up then hopped over to Kame, wrapping an arm around the younger’s shoulders and resting all his weight on him. Kame almost fell down, but managed to steady himself and took Jin’s back from one of the older’s friend’s hands. The boy looked at them, making Kame shift uneasily under the stare, then glared hard at Jin.

“Be careful, Bakanishi. And behave, you hear me?”

Jin grinned as a cheeshire cat. “Bye bye Pi~”

Kame wrapped his arm round Jin’s waist, supporting most of his weight as they made their way out of the school and toward Jin’s house. The boy was heavy, and it took Kame forever to drag him home, for Jin had at some point gave up on even trying to walk and had rested his whole weight on the younger’s boy, who end up giving him short piggy rides every now and then, stumbling and tripping as Jin was too heavy for him.

Kame threw Jin onto the bed as soon as they reached the boy’s bedroom. He plopped himself down then, exahusted. Dragging his friend upstairs had been hell, even though the older seemed pretty oblivious about his friend’s heavy breathing as he pulled himself to rest against the heardboard. He smiled cheerfully and pulled on Kame’s arm to get his attention.

“Ne, Kazu, I’m sweaty. I want to take a shower.”

“Well you can’t. You shouldn’t stand with your ankle like that.”

“Then you shower me!”

Kame got up, sighing resignatedly. “Take your shirt off.”

Jin beamed, obeying quickly as he saw a chance of getting into Kame’s pants. The younger boy went out the bedroom, returning a few minutes later with a damp towel. He threw it at Jin, smirking. “Now you can clean yourself off.”

Jin pouted, giving Kame a hurt expression. “But I thought you were going to help me shower!”

“Not a chance of that happening, Akanishi. I’m going to fetch some ice for your ankle then I’m going to shower myself.”

When Kame came back from the kitchen - holding some ices wrapped in a cloth - Jin was sulking on the bed. He snatched the ice away from him, glaring, and put it on his ankle, mumbling angrily when Kame promised to shower quickly. Kame disappeared into the bathroom, borrowing a towel from where he knew Jin’s mother storaged them. He took off his clothes, folding them as carefully as he could before putting them away. He stepped into the shower plate and turned in the cold water, letting it run down his body, refreshing him. He closed his eyes, humming contentedly.

Kame was too distracted basking in bliss to notice Jin sneaking into the bathroom, using the walls for support as he was forced to go hopping on one leg. The older boy smirked when he saw Kame’s silhouette behind the shower’s crystal. He wanted to go closer to the boy, but he had to let go of the wall to get there. Jin frowned, tongue poking in between his lips as he spread his arms and started hopping over to the shower, trying to balance himself.

A loud pained howl made Kame practically jump inside the shower. He inmediately turned the faucet off and rushed out, looking around startled. He felt like facepalming when he saw Jin writhing on the floor with his eyes closed in pain. Kame sighed, grabbing the towel and wrapping it around his waist before crouching down by his friend, pulling him to a sitting position.

“Are you okay?”

Jin clung to Kame as the younger helped him up and toward the bedroom. “Yeah, I slipped...”

“Why were you in the bathroom to start with?”

“Uhm... I missed you?”

Jin smiled sheepishly, but Kame only sighed exasperately as he threw the older boy back to the bed. He took the ice and put it back on Jin’s ankle.

“Now I’m going to dress up. You don’t dare moving again or I’ll leave you wherever you fall down this time. And no pouting will make me change my mind.”

Jin huffed, but obeyed, and he was still laying on the bed when Kame came back, fully dressed. He sat down on the bed and took the older’s injured ankle into his lap. It was still red and swollen, but much less than before. Kame massaged it carefully, trying not to hurt Jin, who sighed contentedly and wriggled his toes, making the younger chuckle.

“Ne, Kazu, kiss it better!”

“What?! No way I’m doing that!”

“Why? You don’t want me to recover quickly?”

“You’ve been playing soccer. Your feet smell awful.”

“You didn’t seem to mind it that much just a moment ago! Kazu~ Please~ Do it for me~”

“Will you shut the hell up if I do it?”

“Yup.”

Kame rolled his eyes, but kissed the injured ankle anyway, smiling softly as he heard Jin’s happy sigh. He looked up at him, trying - and failing - to look annoyed. “Does it hurt anywhere else?” Jin pointed to his forehead and Kame brushed the boy’s fringe away to press a kiss on it. “And now?” Jin pointed to his cheek and Kame complied, amused. He quirked an eyebrow as Jin smiled cheekly and pointed to his lips. He leaned in and kissed the older boy, nibbling a little on his lips but pulling apart before he had the time to do anything else. “Better now?”

Jin nodded happily, blowing a raspberry to Kame as the boy rolled his eyes yet again. Kame reached for a cushion and whacked Jin’s head with it before putting it under the older’s ankle before disappearing into the bathroom. He came back a few moments later with the first aid kit and bandaged Jin’s ankle, making sure to add presure to the ankle. He returned the kit to the bathroom when he was done, and plopped himself on the floor next to Jin’s bed.

“I’m staying to help you until your mother comes back, so just tell me if you need anything.”

“Can you turn the TV on?”

Jin grinned widely and a shiver ran down Kame’s back. He had a feeling he was going to regret those words.
