Note: I've been updating this fic for two months now, almost every sunday except for one I updated my other multichapter but I don't think I'll longer have the time to keep it up. I'm having my mid-term right now, I'll be having finals starting friday next week, and then it'll be exams non-stop until the university entrance exam. I have a couple of chapters already done and beta-ed, but I won't have much time to continue writing till I'm finished with studying. I'm very sorry, but please, don't expect me to update every sunday from now on ^^;

Lesson VII Kame groaned annoyed and twisted his head away from Jin’s lips. The boy whined and tried again, but Kame pushed him away and sat down on his bed, eyes closed and pinching the bridge of his nose. The mattress sinked as Jin sat down at his side.
“What’s the matter, Kame?”
“Can we... not do... this today? I’m not feeling all that well...”
“Sure, you do look a little pale. Why don’t you lay down for a while? Is anything wrong?”
“Nah, don’t worry. I think it’s just a cold. I’ll be better soon.”
Jin frowned, concerned, and brought a hand to the younger’s forehead. “I think you have fever. Maybe you should go to the doctor...”
“No need for that, I’m fine. I just need to sleep a little...”
Jin nodded, stroking Kame’s hair away from his sweaty forehead as the younger curled up on the bed. He was asleep whithin minutes, his breathing coming out in even puffs, but it didn’t relieve Jin in the slightest.
Jin poked his head inside Kame’s classroom, scanning the desks for his friend. He wasn’t there. Jin frowned, scratching the back of his head, and was about to leave when a girl suddenly popped up in front of him, smiling cheerfully. Jin vaguely recognized her as one of the girls they had met at the cinema a couple of weeks ago, the one with the short hair. He couldn’t remember her name though.
“Did you need anything, Akanishi-senpai?”
“Ah... Uhm... Did Kamenashi-kun come to school today?”
“Kame-chan? He has been absent the entire week. I went to his home yesterday to bring him some homework, it seems he has a cold or something.”
“Uhm... Okay, thank you.”
The girl smiled and waved her hand at him as he left the classroom, still frowning.

Jin plopped himself down on his bed and grabbed his mobile phone, going through the numbers until he found the one of Kamenashis’ house. His call was answered a few seconds later by a woman Jin supposed to be Kame’s mother. He cleared his throat.
“Uhm, good afternoon. Is Kazuya-kun avaible?”
“Who’s calling?”
“Ah! I’m Akanishi Jin, Kazuya’s friend.”
“Kazuya is resting right now, but I can call him for you if you want.”
“Ah, it’s okay, thank you! I only wanted to know how he is doing, since he haven’t come to school lately and he wasn’t feeling well the other day...”
“He has caught a cold, so I thought it would be better for him to stay at home until he got better. However, I think it’s getting worse... But he is so sturbbon! I can’t convince him to go to the doctor, even though the fever won’t decrease...!”
“Maybe I’d be able to help with that... Kamenashi-san, would you please tell Kazuya I’ll pick him up at half past five?”

Kame groaned in annoyance as Jin pulled on his arm, dragging him out of his house. He hadn’t wanted to go out, but Jin was a pain in the neck and the only way to get him to stop bugging Kame was to just go along with him, even though he was still feeling weak and dizzy. At least Jin had decided to go walking to wherever they were going, so Kame didn’t have to worry about falling off the motorbike.
“Jin, for the umpteenth time, can you tell me where the hell are we going?”
“No. It’s a surprise~”
“Have I ever told you I don’t trust your surprises?”
“Mou, Kame-chan, there’s no need to be so mean!”
“Then tell me where are we going.”
“No. We’re almost there anyway, you’ll find out soon.”
Kame rolled his eyes, but he kept walking beside Jin, for once not trying to pull his hand - securely held in Jin’s bigger one - back to himself. He was practically drowning in the oversized wool sweater the older had made him wear, since it was the warmest thing Jin had been able to find in Kame’s closet. However, not contented with that, he had wrapped the younger in a thick coat, and only Kame’s glare had stopped him from taking out a scarf.
Kame stopped on his tracks when he saw where Jin was taking him. He pulled on the older’s hand to make him stop.
“Jin, I told you I didn’t need to come to the hospital! I’m perfectly fi-”
“No, you’re not. You’ve been sick for over a week, that’s something more than a cold!”
“It’s not! I just need to rest and...”
“And medicines. Come on, if you’re scared I’ll be there with you!”
“I’m not scared!!”
“Then lets go!”
Kame wanted to protest more, but Jin dragged him past the hospital’s doors and into the waiting room. They sat on the bright orange plastic chairs, Jin smiling brightly and Kame fuming. He couldn’t believe the boy had taken him there without a word. It was nice from him to be worried, but Kame had already said he was fine, and he didn’t need any doctor to tell him what he alredy knew, that he had caught a cold.
There weren’t many patients around, so Kame’s name was called soon. He felt like facepalming, seeing the older boy had even made an appointment for him. Jin stood up and dragged Kame into the room, the two of them bowing politely when they entered. Kame cursed Jin even more when he saw the doctor. She was a young woman who seemed surprised to see the two boys together, her eyes shifting from Jin to Kame, but smiled gently nonetheless, motioning them to take a sit on the stretcher. Kame obeyed, Jin standing on his feet by his side.
“You’re Kamenashi-kun, right?”
“Right.”
“And what was the problem?”
“It seems like I’ve caught a cold... I don’t think it is something serious, really, but this guy insisted I should come so...”
“So I had to drag you here! He has been sick for over a week, but he insisted he was fine even though it’s obvious he is not!”
She smiled as Kame tried to wack Jin over his head, blushing slightly. “We’ll see that now. Could you please take off your sweater and unbutton your shirt, Kamenashi-kun?”
Kame nodded, handing Jin his sweater and undoing the buttons of his shirt as the doctor turned to fetch the stethoscope. He shivered when the cold metal settled over his warm chest, but did as told, taking deep breaths or holding them in. The doctor nodded every now and then, muttering something to herself. She put the instrument away when she was done, and handed Kame a thermometer, instructing him to put it under his arm as she put his hands on both sides of the boy’s neck, pressing slightly. She then made him open his mouth, saying “Aaah~” as she pressed a wooden stick on his tonge and peered inside his throat. It made Kame feel stupid, and Jin’s badly covered chuckle didn’t make it better.
“It seems to me that your friend was right, Kamenashi-kun. I’m afraid you’ve caught the flu. I would recommend you not to go out for some time, and to rest all you can. I will prescribe you some medicine, you should stop by a pharmacy to buy it later. You’ll be healthy again in no time.”
Kame cursed under his breath as he heard Jin’s thriumphant “Told ya!”. He just wasn’t going to let Jin get away with it like that. The boy had dragged him to the hospital despite Kame having told him he didn’t need to, and now he would have to be taking medicines for probably more than a week. Kame hated medicines. He was so going to have his revenge on Jin.
“Doctor, how much will it take for the flu to be gone?”
“If you do as I tell you, you should be healthy enough to go to school again in a week.”
“Uhm... My friend here had been saying he will take care of me until I get better, but if it’s like that I would pass it to him, right? I wouldn’t like that!”
“Well, there’s no need to worry if he is properly vaccinated. Is he?”
Jin’s eyes widened, suddenly realizing where the conversation was leading them. He raised his hands as to protect himself, shooking his head frantically and opening his mouth to say something, but Kame was faster, a devilish smirk on his lips as he answered for his friend. “I’m afraid he is not, doctor!”
“Don’t worry, we will solve that right now!”
“What?! Wait no! I’m perfectly fine! I’m strong against viruses, I’m sure I won’t catch it!”
Kame smirked and grabbed Jin’s hand before the boy could try to run away, pulling him to sit down by his side. He almost felt guilty at the pitiful look in the older’s eyes when he saw the needle. Almost. But the boy deserved it for what he had done. Kame patted his shoulder reassuringly as the doctor came closer, holding out the srynge.
“Come on, we will be done in a moment. This will only pinch a little bit...”
- - -
Jin left the hospital with a pout bigger than life, rubbing his aching arm as he threw Kame a betrayed look.
“I so can’t believe you did that to me!”
“Did what?”
“Telling her to give me shot!”
“You deserved it for taking me here.”
“But I was doing it for your own health!”
“So was I.”
“But! But it’s different!”
“No, it’s not.”
“Anyway! I’m getting it back at you for this!”
Kame laughed as Jin pouted at him, though the older’s expression turned into a concerned one when a fit of cough made Kame bend over his stomach. Jin whacked his back softly and wrapped an arm around him to steady him as they made their way back to Kame’s house, for Jin had decided he was going to take care of Kame until his mother came back.
They stopped by a pharmacy to buy the younger’s medicine, despite Kame trying to distract Jin so the boy would forget about it. Jin plopped himself down on Kame’s bed as soon as they were back in the boy’s house, and took out the prospect of the medicine, quickly reading throug it.
“Kame, are you hungry?”
“Not really, my stomach doesn’t feel really well.”
“Uhm... It says here that you have to eat something, anyway. I’ll make you something. Why don’t you try to rest a little meanwhile?”
“What are you going to cook?”
“Do you have chicken? I think I’ll try to make a chicken soup then, it’ll make you some good. Now change into something warm and rest.”
Kame smiled as Jin pressed a kiss on his forehead, getting up and walking out of the bedroom. He did as the older said and put on the warmest pyjamas he could find, curling up under his bed conforter to watch TV. However he didn’t last there for too long, and decided to go down to see how Jin was doing at the kitchen, wearing the fluffiest pair of socks and slippers he owned.
Jin was chopping a carrot when Kame walked into the kitchen. The boy sat down on a chair and Jin turned to look at him briefly before turning back at the vegetables. “Shouldn’t you be resting?”
“I don’t trust you in my kitchen.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”
“It wasn’t you who I was worried about.”
Jin glared at him, putting the carrots into the bowl filled with onion and chicken pieces. “Very funny, Kamenashi. For your better information, I’m a great cook.”
Jin put the carrots in a bowl already filled with onion, celery and chicken pieces, then went to taste the broth in the pot. He frowned, added more salt, stirred it with a spoon and tasted it again. He smiled contentedly and put the chicken and the vegetables in, filling then a plate with the soup.
“Ne, Kazu, why don’t you go up and get into the bed? I’ll be there in a moment.”
Kame nodded, getting back to the bedroom. He snuggled under the covers and rested his back against the pillows pilled up against the headboard. Jin was there a few moments later, carrying a tray with the soup plate, a spoon and a glass filled with apple juice. He placed the tray on the nightstand to sit behind Kame, pulling the younger boy to sit on his lap without taking the conforter away from him, then placed the tray on the younger’s lap. He took a spounful of soup and poked Kame’s lips with it.
“Jin, I can eat by myself, you know.”
“No, you can’t. You’re sick. Come on, open your mouth and eat a spoonful for Jin~”
Kame rolled his eyes, but took the spoonful anyway. He was surprised it actually tasted really good. Jin smirked knowingly, continuing to feed the soup to the younger. Kame took it gladly, whinning whenever Jin decide to tease him pulling the spoon away when he was about to take it.
Kame started eating slowler when he noticed the plate was almost finished. However Jin didn’t slow down, and soon the plate was empty and settled apart. Kame pretended to be asleep, but of course the older boy didn’t buy it and got up to wipe the spoon with a napkin to fill it with the medicine then. Kame huffed, crossing his arms upon his chest.
“Come on, Kazu-chan, don’t be a kid. It’s only medicine. And it says here that it tastes like lemon.”
Kame snorted. “The hell it does.”
“Just drink it quickly and then take the juice to erease the flavour, okay?” Kame shook his head, looking away. He could always blame the fever for this childlish behavour. “Are you making me pinch your nose to open your mouth?”
“Fine, fine! Stupid medicine.”
Jin smiled as Kame finally opened his mouth, eyes closed as he waited for the older to put the spoonful into his mouth. He swallowed quickly when Jin did, inmediately sticking out his tongue and making disgusted faces. Jin laughed loudly, patting his shoulder.
“Come on, come on, don’t exaggerate, Kazu-chan. I’m sure it didn’t taste that bad!”
Kame glared at Jin, and grabbed him before he could react, pulling him down for a kiss. He pushed his tongue into the older’s mouth, sucking on his tongue before pulling away. Jin wiped his lips with his sleeve, cringing. “Ugh, Kazu! Now I also taste like that horrible thing!”
“Come on, Jin, I’m sure it doesn’t taste that bad, right?”
Jin made a reach for the glass of juice, but Kame was faster and downed it before the older could get it. Jin glared and pouted, crossing his arms over his chest with a huff. Kame just laughed.
“Serves you right.”
That's all for today. Comment yes?
