timeskip brings the cute. don't get used to it, billy. XDwaterfellJune 26 2011, 00:08:58 UTC
[A little girl, shyly hanging back away from the other party-goers, eyes Billy and braves a timid smile to be polite. She gives a tiny wave with one hand, the other clutching a package - a gift for the birthday, presumably.]
Oh, umm... [To make a recovery, he tries to act normal. He looks around, not exactly 100% sure. He then sees a table where a few of the presents are and points to it.] Over there. Do you mind me asking what the present is?
[unless quicksilver's height was about four feet tall, this couldn't be him. It catches Billy's attention, and so under his breath he chants:] I wantthemtostop, Iwantthemtostop, Iwantthemtostop.
[Huh. All the sudden, Tommy can't move. How... And now he's getting scolded that's -- just great. He manages to break away from the adults, still without noticing Billy and going to sit alone by himself.]
[Billy goes through the people, trying to locate the person he put a spell on. When he sees a more pint sized versions of a speedster he knows all too well, he can't help but be puzzled. Why are things so different in this dream? It seemed all too normal, not breaking a single pattern.
He moves closer, making eye contact before speaking.]
Using powers like that isn't too polite at a party like this.
[Laharl, in the meantime, is already happily stuffing himself with food. This more than makes up for the loss of the Super Rare Pudding Etna ordered some time ago.
He...doesn't seem to realize he's in a place full of superheroes. Or he does, but is just feeling pretty over-confident.]
[He looks over and sees someone stuffing their face. Knowing how some mutants can be, Billy doesn't say anything at first. Then he realizes how much the other is eating.]
[For Teddy, the situation is... well, he's not sure what to think about it. He knows the Vision and Scarlet Witch on sight, of course, and an embarrassing large amount of the guests while he's at it. But the reason for the party is something he doesn't get at all, let alone... other things.
There's one person who stands out, though. One that Teddy notices instantly, and whom he walks over to with a concerned frown. Surely his idiot of a boyfriend didn't do something as stupid as going back in time or something, right? Normally he'd have laughed at that, but considering his friends, well... there is the possibility.]
...hey. [He tries to say it casually, with a smile, but he doesn't get any punch for himself. And he can't quite hide the concern, either.]
[He's lost in his own thoughts as he watches the events unfold without a hitch. He doesn't even realize Teddy's there until he hears that all too familiar voice.]
Teddy. [That's weird... usually that doesn't happen. He speaks again a few seconds later once he shrugs off the change in the dream.] Usually you aren't in this dream, let alone dreams like these.
...this is a dream? [He finds himself laughing in relief at that. A dream makes a lot more sense- even if it's weird that he'd be dreaming this. It's Billy's dream, right? So why is he in it? Or to put it another way, why would he be dreaming about Billy's childhood? That was all kinds of messed up.
Still, at least it means that everything's okay. He's not a lucid dreamer, but Teddy takes Billy's word for it. He's the mage, after all.]
Yeah, well, that's what it usually is. [He points out some all too familiar faces -- the Scarlet Witch with a little boy on her back.] That's me and my mom, and soon a bunch of people will be coming up to her, giving me presents as they talk about the good old days.
I have this dream a lot, so I know what happens by now. It never really changes, but sometimes the presents are different or the cake is a different flavor, so nothing much.

[It sounds lame even to her younger ears; but what else is there to say?]
I brought a present for the party. Do you know where we should put them?

You should save some room for the cake.

[Yes, ladies and gents, eating about 75% of the party's food is saving room for the cake.]
