There are, in the world, three types of magic: the Old Magic, which is the magic of the earth and the element; the Wild Magic, which is the magic of living things and emotions; and the High Magic, the most powerful magic, which rules over the rest and has the ultimate authority in the universe. The Old Magic is divided into two "poles", the Light (good) and the Dark (evil), which have been in conflict for all of Time; the Dark seeks to control man and, through them, the earth, and the Light is trying to keep that from happening. The beings of the Light are also called "Old Ones", because they are Timeless and immortal and have always been among men, protecting them. Magic Limits onegoesalone March 31 2011, 03:45:35 UTC
Mind-powers: telepathy with other people who are telepathic & metaphysicals, sensing other metaphsyicals, erasing memories (but only like...the last five minutes or someone's name; very small things, and only in person)

Magic: none of his magic really affects anything at a grand scale or even a large scale so other than no traveling through time, I was thinking it wouldn't be curbed much? It's never really clear exactly what all he can do, since most of the time he just does protection spells or magic relevant to the plot, but it's outright stated that there's some magic the Old Ones would never use period, and that neither the Light or the Dark can directly hurt a man (or each other, actually). So there's kind of already limits in place? It's hard to say exactly other than "no grand gestures or world changing things" but, um, definitely nothing like that. Stopping time is really the biggest thing he can do that wouldn't affect just him.
