I'm allowing a lock to be installed on the walk-in fridge and possibly the pantry. I know a lot of people are going to piss and moan, so I'm going to compromise here:

I'm going to try and see to it that all wardens have a key.

I know it's not ideal, but this is a prison and we have a finite supply of food. Leaving it open to all and sundry has ( Read more... )

Maybe it would also help to have a separate area of the kitchen for food that can be taken. That way, you always have essential food locked away from all but kitchen staff and the "superfluous" food elsewhere, locked to inmates.

Not a bad idea. If everyone can come to an agreement about what's superfluous, and what's essential, I'll give it a listen.

Well, shouldn't it be up to the kitchen staff as to what is needed? You are in the kitchen more than anyone else. You know what you use and what you don't use.

I'm the only member of the kitchen staff that's a warden. I've got wardens wanting jelly babies, inmates wanting brownies, wardens wanting apples...

If the decision is up to me, I'll just lock the fucking thing.

Fifteen dozen eggs stolen or broken, a horde of rodents, and our supply of sugar gone before the end of the month?

Yes. The situation is truly that bad.

Fifteen dozen?! Oh no.

Well, hopefully this will keep it from happening again next month.

I suppose it's a good thing that the supply will replenish in a couple days. Can we make due on what we've got right now?

We can, but it's soup and beans until Tuesday.

I'm not turning down any help at this point.

I didn't know what was in the CES could be taken out. Did you look there for rosemary?

I don't know how much clearer it can get. I've been telling people since this whole rationing thing started that we can't just take from the kitchen like it's a convenience store.

I think Uhura's got a good point, too. I'll see what I can do about setting up a snack table or something.
