It is time for
omniocular's May Challenge: Spring Cleaning!
For this month's challenge we're doing something different. Rather than issuing a new challenge, we are throwing open our four previous challenges for a bit of spring cleaning. Perhaps you made a claim but never finished the story. Perhaps you wanted to make a claim but were just too busy that month. Perhaps you loved one challenge so much you want to have another go. Or perhaps you were just too flabbergasted by the pair of characters you drew in January to do anything with them.
Whatever the case, the month of May is your second chance. You may participate in as many of the reopened challenges as you like, but you must follow the original rules for each challenge. (For example, you may make only one claim at a time for the Non-Fiction Fest.) Please read the individual posts for the details of each challenge:
January: the Janus Character Roulette, in which you draw two unknown character names out of a hat and include both in your story or artwork, whoever they may be.
February: the Anywhere But Here Challenge, for stories and artwork taking place in locations across the globe.
March: the Touched With Fire Post-War challenge, for stories and artwork dealing with the aftermath of any war that has affected the wizarding world.
April: the Non-Fiction Fest, for documents, articles, letters, manuscripts, diagrams, book excerpts, and all manner of other bits of "non-fiction" from the wizarding world.
As always, both members and non-members are welcome to participate. Members may post their work at any time according to the
posting guidelines; non-members may post their entries in their own journals and either leave a comment here or send us an email at omnio_mods @ yahoo.com with the link.
Here's how it works:
If you have already made a claim for any one of the challenges, your claim still stands and you are welcome to finish up that story or piece of art and post it during May. There is no need to leave a comment or restate your claim.
If you missed the claims for any of the challenges or want to make a second claim, you are welcome to participate following the rules of each challenge:
i. The
February Anywhere But Here Challenge and
April Non-Fiction Fest are once again open for claiming, with the same rules applying to each. If you have already made a claim, it still stands, and anything that has not yet been claimed is free for the taking. Please comment on the original challenge posts with your claim.
ii. The
March post-war challenge had no claims or prompts, so the challenge is simply reissued.
iii. For the
January character roulette, we have reordered the list of characters and reposted the categories below. If you like your original claim, there is no need to choose new names. But if you wish to draw new names, the numbers and characters claimed in the old list can be ignored; this is a fresh start. Please read the details of the challenge on the original post, but make your claim here. (Yes, I know it is a bit confusing. Just think of how much more confusing it is for the person -- i.e., me -- trying to manage all of these challenges.)
You may claim any two numbers according to the original rules of the challenge: at least one of the numbers you claim must be a character whose name has not yet been revealed. Please comment on this post with your claim. We will fill in the list as numbers are claimed; if a name has been claimed twice already it is no longer available.
Remember, if you made a claim back in January and are perfectly happy with that pair of characters, your old claim still stands.

Welcome to Spring Cleaning. We hope to see those half-finished but still-loved challenge stories dusted off and finished up, as well as new claims from people who might have missed out before. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Enjoy!
