Star Wars!
So I finally got to see The Rise of Skywalker! My gut feeling throughout the film and out of the cinema is that I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a few elements that I didn't like, but on the whole, it was everything I was hoping for and more than I expected ( Read more... ) -

So it turned out that my free weekday was load-bearingLike. I knew that it was a really pleasant day to have. Unlike the weekend, when everybody is at home and clamouring for attention and expecting things because, after all, it's the free weekend, that was a day that I had pretty much to myself, and I needed that. Jinxed it
Of course, after talking about the schedule being more reliable, I was bit completely in the ass by having to sub the last two classes yesterday, which took away the time I would've needed to get home before conferences to do at least some basic shopping or sth. An unexpected call
Just as I was putting dinner on the table, the phone rang, and the husband answered. Since he was being all formal, I assumed that it was one of my students' parents - I don't get called up as often as some other teachers, but it happens occasionally - but it turned out to be my old boss from my regional news magazine from hell days. Second week of the summer holidays
We're back from the annual Drachenfest. Like last year, it happened to be held during the hottest (so far) week of the year. By "so far" I mean both that we had the hottest temperatures in Germany ever since we started systematically noting temperatures, and that hotter weeks may yet come, considering that the dog days are not yet over. SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!
And thus ends my first year as a teacher.
I hope I'll manage to write more about it later (I know, I know, I always say that) but for now, let me just join my students in exulting at the beautiful prospect of FREEDOOOOM!!1!!
