Having taught university students for more than thirty years I can say that each generation changes, and one has to learn how to make things interesting for them (in my case). Isn't always easy, but one learns even to teach things you are not excited about. :)
Teaching things I'm not excited about is easier, I think. I know how hard it is to motivate myself (or to make myself understand) so I can come up with ways to motivate students/help them understand, too. But things I love? Like, how can you not intuitively grasp what a verb is? ;)
When I like things, I have to forget why I like them and think why would they like them. Of course it's economics and not verbs. It's different. I admire school teachers.
good luck! i guess i'm lucky - at least as for throat is concerned. i got my first real inflammation of throat when i was about 20. do you use any sort of... uhm, i really don't know the right word... it's not a real medicament, but i think it's called a pastille in english, that can be used especially for people like you who have to do a lot of talking?
Yeah, I've been sucking cough drops the past days, but the problem is that they can be expected to soothe irritated vocal cords, but not to heal fully-fledged laryngitis. Sigh!
