The sakura are blooming and everything is warm and alive! On top of that it's already Golden Week! Living here has proven to me how much my mood can be affected by the weather. So I went to this awesome resort lake called Shikaribetsu last weekend. The entire lake freezes in the winter and people built Igloos and even an outdoor onsen area on top of it. Plus with the nice cushy layer of snow on top of that, they offer snowmobile riding! Of course, my snowmobile wouldn't start, and then once it did, I got stuck in deep ( Read more... )

On Saturday, January 26th at 8:40pm, my 1996 Mazda Familia met a tragic end at the hands of a traffic pole and some black ice. Although our time together was short, she was a trusty car and protected me to the end. The black ice was a direct result of melted snow from the blizzard that occurred the previous Thursday. So the neighbors have moved out as of yesterday, leaving me in Wuthering Heights by myself. It's been one night, and so far I'm not feeling too bad about it.
