That scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail refuses to leave my head.  That's okay, though.  I kind of like it there.

BREAKING NEWS.  (But doesn't every journal update kind of have that feel?  Let me be dramatic like the people on Channel Three, who think everything is dramatic and should be delivered to the public with many inappropriate ( Read more... )

From a girl who had to live through the SARS scare in Canada a couple years ago; don't worry. Historically plagues move much faster, yes we live in a more modern society but the truth is it's just going to slow. You shouldn't be scared, because the other thing is, when a plague does hit it's going to be stronger then anyone could fight, it's the nature of the beast. It's role is population control, there needs to be one every 20 to 40 years, we're avoided about 2, but we can't duck much forever, and that's why people are freaking out for every new symptom of anything that comes out. Truth is this is the second time in american history that you have to deal with the swine flu and last time it didn't turn into a plague, meaning it probably doesn't have the strength. When it's going to be the plague, you'll know about it (because they won't find a cure or immunisation shot), for now rest, relax and stress over a possible plague will make your symptoms worst, so don't stress yourself, just enjoy your disease and help your immune system ( ... )

Aw, I'm not actually too worried. I'll start worrying when SuperGerms get one up on our antibiotics and begin wiping out entire regions. :3 You have a point about population control--with the planet as full as it is, it's only a matter of time before natural forces remind us that yes, the Earth has a maximum occupancy.

Mostly I'm worried about complications with asthma. :P Not being able to breathe properly makes me rather nervous.
