I’m watching Buffy on Tubi lol.

Here in the US, Disney/Hulu only show the standard version whereas Tubi shows the HD. I know a lot of Buffy stans hate the HD version due to color grading and cropping issues, but I don’t really notice them and it’s much more enjoyable to me to see it in HD lol

The special effects haven't aged well, and this was the days of 22-episode seasons so there's the occasional clunker here and there. But it was one of the first TV shows to actually attempt long-form serial storytelling, and it's worth admiring the ambition at the very least.

So far it's not actually bad LMAO, but it gave us more in the first 5 minutes than Doctor Odyssey has in 7 episodes if you get my drift, but then it descended into a thriller about guessing wrong about who is gay and who is a murderer because you want to prove a point about gay marriage?! As I said in my write up, they could have just gone to Spain and not back to a place they sued (and won) for discrimination because one side of the couple has a bone to pick.

I watched it forever ago and I remember being entertained enough.

But what is up with the gay guys trying to assume everyone else is gay?! Then again, I am 32 minutes in and they just outed a 16 year old to "protect him" and I'm like *facepalm*. Although I can assume there will be some twists and turns coming soon. Also "Gays are very spiteful" is definitely a thing to tell someone LMAO.

edit 40 minutes in: Well, I didn't expect someone watching someone watching a guy give another guy a blowjob in a park, but here we are. It's inception-levels of voyeurism.

edit 50 minutes in (I keep having to pause for RL issues LOL): Ok this isn't that wild after all LOL, unless it's wild in the sense that all these gay guys are messy (also are there no women in this movie at all? We haven't even GLIMPSED a woman) and the Christian is just... Christian-ing.

I love Tubi so much. One hungover Sunday in bed I watched a random Nicholas Cage movie and it auto played awful Nicholas Cage movies the rest of the day and I wasn’t mad.

The thing about Tubi is that it has a shit ton of content both good, bad, and WTF, but mostly just random entertaining B list stuff so at least you'll be entertained. And now it has Knives Out randomly, so that's fun LOL. It has the stuff no other streamer has and that's a great niche to be in right now.

It reminds me back of when Netflix had a lot of movies and classic tv shows before they pivoted and started investing more in their own content and stopped licensing so much stuff made by other studios.

Like I’m so enjoying rewatching Buffy on Tubi.

And a great thing about it is that they have a lot of international content (particularly European) that nobody else would even bother to carry. You want to see an obscure French horror movie? Tubi is your best bet to find it.

Although their subtitles are weird LOL. I am watching something now from the UK with perfectly normal English accents and they keep saying (mumbling) in the subtitles instead of what is perfectly audible LOL.

I love Tubi. When I can’t anything on the major streamers to watch there is always something on there. I binged the OG Degrassi and Buffy recently. Yesterday I watched that new Bill and Ted movie. It was completely awful, but still somehow enjoyable.

I also love pluto tv. I’ve been watching the twilight zone channel. And they just started having the Closer and Rizolli and Isles.

I enjoyed it fine enough but I did think it was clunky(?) in some parts.
