I'm glad he's doing well. My dad was also diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple of years ago. He did radiation last summer and has been receiving some treatment shots every 3 months - his last one is coming up! He had a scan recently and there's no spread and all his numbers, like PSA, are really, really good. I'm glad he was on top of monitoring and we caught it relatively early.

My Dad went through the same thing almost ten years ago, he's stayed in remission thankfully. I hope everything goes well for your dad as well!

Glad he's doing better. When I noticed how much weight he'd lost, I worried it was because of something like this.

Prostate cancer is highly treatable when caught early! If you love someone with a prostate, have them get their prostate specific antigen tested. It's a simple blood test. My dad's prostate cancer was stage four and had already metastasized to his bones by the time it was caught. He really didn't have any symptoms before that. But a test years earlier may have saved his life.

Ty for sharing about that test--my dad's dad had prostate cancer and he does get his regular checks, but still!!!

I just realized both my grandpas had it and yet my dad didn't bother getting checked until his older brother was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Damn. That sounds like a friend of mine: both his paternal grandparents died of colon cancer, his dad wasn't on top of getting checkups, and then he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and died less than a year later
