Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen is revealing today that two years ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent a procedure to remove the tumor.

There needs to be PSAs about it and it should really be part of any man's regular check up over the age of 40. It drives me crazy knowing that my dad had to get a yearly physical for his trucking license but somehow this was never checked. And now he's dead.

Is this the same Steve McQueen that Sheryl Crow sings about or is that a different one?

Follow-up question - IS that a Sheryl Crow song or am I confusing her work with Liz Phair?

I can't remember the song but she's likely singing about Steve McQueen the 1960s/70s actor, most famous for The Great Escape, The Thomas Crowne Affair, and Bullit. He passed away in the 80s. Steve McQueen the director only rose to fame within the last decade or so.
