Took them long enough. It’s not like it hasn’t been a Nazi shithole for a while now.

I need to leave. It's hard because I carved out one very small, very close niche community on there and I doubt it will transfer elsewhere. But, I also cannot keep on using it.

Would you be able to cross post for a bit and let people know you’re on a new site and phase out using Twitter?

Yeah this is what I need to do-I have started the process now. It's wild how much social media can become a habit. So, my first move was just removing twitter from being easily accessible by hiding the app and I am already visiting it WAY less frequently because I do not aimlessly click it. I started up my bluesky and am begging people to move with me lol.
The new terms and service is pretty wild too basically admitting they are mining your data and using it for AI. I just can't stay on there anymore, even if I lose my small little niche community.

I'm the same. I'm also not willing to relocate to threads or bluesky, so as long as my lil community remains I'll still check in but I noticed today that my feed is already dying. I love it. Free me from these chains!!!

I’m glad I haven’t been using it in years.

Sorry but everyone should delete their Twitter. Its owner is literally a fascist who’s working on undermining democracy. Let him just talk to his fellow fascists and Russian bots.

but it's where people are. Most everyone who left in a huff the first time came back.
And i still find the same schitty people on insta/youtube/reddit/etc. All social media is bad.

I hate that companies haven't shifted over. I don't have a community but news updates are faster from original sources in Twitter still

Remember when you only saw the accounts you FOLLOWED?

it's such a cesspool now. I still use it occasionally for friends/entertainment news/lulz, but compared to how often I was on it before...barely.

God, I hate that about Instagram too - I don’t want to see every random and their hilarious (cough) insights on the difference between US and Australia or someone sitting in their car giving me their deep thoughts, thanks. I just want to see the knitting and the cats of the people and accounts I follow.

exactly, because there ARE some fantastic accounts on all these platforms, but my god, I hate sifting through the rage and engagement bait

The way I have to "snooze all suggested posts for 30 days" every goddamn month and they still don't get the hint. I also love that even with various lists of people whose content I definitely want to see, I still miss posts all the time.
