Remember when you only saw the accounts you FOLLOWED?

it's such a cesspool now. I still use it occasionally for friends/entertainment news/lulz, but compared to how often I was on it before...barely.

God, I hate that about Instagram too - I don’t want to see every random and their hilarious (cough) insights on the difference between US and Australia or someone sitting in their car giving me their deep thoughts, thanks. I just want to see the knitting and the cats of the people and accounts I follow.

The way I have to "snooze all suggested posts for 30 days" every goddamn month and they still don't get the hint. I also love that even with various lists of people whose content I definitely want to see, I still miss posts all the time.

On my app, if you click on Instagram in the left corner, and hit following, it will only show you who you follow [and no ads!].

Problem is I have to do it every time because it won't save (or I don't know how to make it the default).

They do it that way on purpose because most people just want to scroll, not click through menus to see the actual content they've signed up for.
