After 16 months of rehab I will never pee in a cu again. But if that works for you ... sure? I don't think it's healthy though and have not heard of that with spouses in the recovery community.

This. He has a pattern of convincing himself everything is fine and under control until it’s not and then it gets real bad. If he really wanted to stay sober, he should’ve had handled this alone.
He just transferred the responsibility to someone who was willing to take it now.

i have no idea about his recovery, nor their relationship, but my sister asked me to randomly drug test her for a transition period so she felt a sense of accountability after leaving her facility. i would never put that on her as a threat, but i was glad to do it if it helped her transition (she's 3 years sober).

Saying she staged an intervention implies he relapsed again when she was pregnant/after he left rehab...?? I get holding a partner accountable to a commitment to sobriety, esp when there are kids involved, but like...this is why you don't fuck a (married) man literally a week out of rehab??? Bringing a kid into it when they "barely knew each other" and hadn't built up trust between them AND he was super newly sober was fully insane behavior.

I mean, we knew!! Why they decided to pretend they got together 'in the spring' when he left rehab in February and their baby was born in November is a mystery to me. I know Americans are bad at math, but come on now.

How quickly, & often, calculations were done here. Someone even looked up some kind of conception calculator, put in the baby's birthday to narrow down the date.
