I wonder what kind of treatment he is undergoing. He has rejected modern medicine in the past. Curious how he reconciles those beliefs if he gets chemo/radiation.

Actually… talking out of my ass here.

But I know someone who works for him. This person doesn’t believe in sunscreen (they were saying this LAST year too) so I’m going to say he’s not working with a legit oncologist.

Oh geez... The level of anti-/pseudo-scientific sentiment spreading throughout the population stresses me out to no end.

Oh damn, that's horrible! But I hope he pulls through!

I hope he's receiving proper treatment cause I think a remember a past post that mentioned he's more into holistic or alternative medicine?? Hopefully he's changed his mind on that.

Roll out for the carcinomies! the5thcircle November 3 2024, 20:33:06 UTC
I hope he caught this early.

A gentle reminder: the WHO recommends colonoscopies starting at 45. You should be doing this sooner if you have a family history or are in a high-risk demographic (prior suspicious polyps, POC, Lynch syndrome, family history of colorectal cancer, FAP, IBS, or colitis).

Only 1/3 of colon cancer diagnoses have a family history. It can be other things than blood including 50+% reporting constipation. 1 in 24 diagnoses are people under the screening age.

I would also like to thank the ONTDer who recommended boba straws for drinking the prep liquid. It's remission year 4 and I'm due for my scope. I intend to implement that advice in January. The prep, not the procedure, is the worst part.

I hope your scope is clean. Congrats on 4 years in remission.

there's also the poop in a box option (cologuard), though i've heard those aren't quite as accurate

I think they are pretty accurate, they're just not conclusive and some insurance doesn't cover it. If it says you're positive, you still need to get a colonoscopy. And some insurance plans only cover one or the other.

This just popped up on my feed. It's so sad. I hope he gets the care that he needs and recovers.

Cancer is such a bitch.

If he’s against modern medicine, the wording of his statement is kind of worrisome. “taking steps to resolve it” sounds like he’s not doing chemo.

Somewhat related and IDK if there was a post about it, but Ananda Lewis chose to do that who with her breast cancer. Unfortunately, not pursuing conventional treatment didn't work out well for her.
