If he’s against modern medicine, the wording of his statement is kind of worrisome. “taking steps to resolve it” sounds like he’s not doing chemo.

Somewhat related and IDK if there was a post about it, but Ananda Lewis chose to do that who with her breast cancer. Unfortunately, not pursuing conventional treatment didn't work out well for her.

The lack of trust in the medical system is shocking. I argued with a woman in a pregnancy group who claimed doctors get bonuses from pharma for vaccines. They may get bonuses for drugs like ozempic and Botox, but not for vaccines which only turn profits based on sheer volume. People are so convinced that their 'research' trumps doctors who have dedicated decades to their craft.

the way these ignorant people are brainwashed, please read some actual accurate information. i'm pretty grateful, looking back, i grew up in a family and environment that was always very pro-medicine, practical and looking into facts about anything wrong etc, rather than pulling the holistic card (and i have relatives who do that dumb shit too, good luck to them)

i'm also insanely grateful i have really good health insurance that i can go and get all the appointments i want to get everything checked. i love getting my annual skin test because i always go to some bougie ass derm office and get a bag full of expensive ass skincare products from them if i ask lmao

The thing is: I get why some people would be distrustful of doctors. There's a long history of ignoring or mistreating women and racial minorities (that hasn't even entirely gone away). And unfortunately, you can always find a quack who will sign onto whatever homeopathic bullshit you believe.

But that being said, thinking you can fight cancer with elderberries and ~good vibes~ is just....

same. i cant imagine how hard its going to be for his family if he lose his battle with cancer. hopefully his mindset has change and he is willing to do chemo and go into remission soon.

that's exactly how i read it. if he went with modern medicine he would've just said as much, so sigh. good luck to him regardless, fucking cancer

Some of the 'holistic' influencers lie and say they only did their bs essential oil crap, when they actually got conventional surgery. An example is Chris cured cancer, who had colon cancer which was cured by surgery, but claims it was woo woo in order to grift. Hopefully he at least pursues surgery, which can be effective in certain colon cancer cases.

I saw this a lot when I first went vegan, esp people who would get the cancer completely cut out and forgo the follow up chemo, and then claim they healed it naturally.

Some cancers are curable without chemo! So don't claim it's all natural if you got surgery.

Ugh I'm a vegetarian for environmental/ethical reasons and the crazy shit I've heard from other plant based people frustrates me.
