A gentle reminder: the WHO recommends colonoscopies starting at 45. You should be doing this sooner if you have a family history or are in a high-risk demographic (prior suspicious polyps, POC, Lynch syndrome, family history of colorectal cancer, FAP, IBS, or colitis).
Only 1/3 of colon cancer diagnoses have a family history. It can be other things than blood including 50+% reporting constipation. 1 in 24 diagnoses are people under the screening age.
I would also like to thank the ONTDer who recommended boba straws for drinking the prep liquid. It's remission year 4 and I'm due for my scope. I intend to implement that advice in January. The prep, not the procedure, is the worst part.

I wish I heard of the boba straw when I last had mine. I had to mix up about a gallon of prep the last time. I have one scheduled for December and I just have a little cup and two little bottles.
The prep is worse than the procedure.

I just turned 40 and this is something to keep in mind. I had a colonoscopy at 18 (back when I had tummy issues). I didn’t have anything wrong thankfully (mine was more stress related to being a gay kid in a small southern town) but you are very right in that the prep is worse than the procedure. The procedure wasn’t bad at all! It was like taking a nap. Drinking all that nasty stuff pre procedure was the most unpleasant part.
