there's a chapter where he does what people consider victim-blaming (he asks a the reader to consider how they got into a relationships with a violent man, and does not do so with much empathy or nuance). part of his perspective comes from being a child of a dv household, and i think it's clear he blames his mom a bit.

She's so brave for putting herself and her story out there. It makes me depressed that women have to do this be taken seriously (and will be mocked and ridiculed by many regardless), and the immense amount of time and effort it requires to do so, but I agree with the idea that we shouldn't be forced to feel ashamed or hidden away either. These conversations are so important.

I'm rooting for her, Gisèle Pelicot, and any other woman who refuses to be silenced in getting men to take accountability for their violent harm.
