How come we never hear about plus sized men? Some of these male execs need to show us what they have going on under those suits.

you know that's exactly why. those talentless asshole execs see a reflection of themselves in plus sized men in hollywood. they'll never be treated like shit and probably lauded as playing the average joe america

I feel like "plus size" usually doesn't even refer to men. Bigger men are just allowed to be men.

She got so much shit when she was cast as Batgirl with jokes that she wouldn't fit into the suit. It was ridiculous.

There is an E True Hollywood Story about Baywatch and two female casting agents talk about how she auditioned but was too heavy for the role and they LAUGHED about the amount of eating disorders they had probably caused.

Okay, but let's not miss the funny part here: it was originally envisioned as a film and then became a very popular TV show, but Dan Fogelman tried to have it both ways and semi-reused the idea for Life Itself. Which was hilariously awful and ridiculous. So, you know.

was her character done well in the show? I watched about 4 eps of this but it was too emotional porn for my liking. I’m curious to know how they dealt with her storyline tho.

Her entire storyline revolved around her weight which bothered me. I never finished the show though so idk

I never finished but tried as hard as I could for Mandy Moore. I hate Milo predatorface. I hated the adult adopted brother character bc in the pilot episodes he refers to his daughter as a bulldyke because she played soccer. They edited it in the audio but not the closed captioning. I
never connected to any of the characters. Which was weird, bc those types of shows are usually up my alley. They all pretty miserable selfish assholes with no depth.

it's been so long and it's a show i watched casually but i feel like it was super focused on her weight to start, especially the first few seasons, but it eventually moved away from that, at least in the adult timeline, the kid/teen timeline might have continued to focus on that moreso, whereas i think they reached a point in the later seasons where her story was more romance/family/job orientated.

as for how it was handled, i thought it was pretty good, as someone that always struggled with weight growing up
